Must be nice living in a rural area.

More you post more your castle gets taller
What's where I live got to do with it? I've lived 90+% of my life in cities - and I still drive in them.

What does the data say? Oh yes (depending on the measure) about 1/3rd reductions in deaths and serious injuries in places where it's been made 20mph. I thought you liked kids? That means more kids alive and unhurt.

Or do you only like 'em as long as it means you can drive a trivial amount faster?

Edit: But I do wish I owned a castle :(

20mph limit massive success.

Roll it out in England tbpfh.

The welsh government should be having press conferences on this saying "all those of you who want us to roll this back - we're not going to listen to you, you are wrong".

Shame the article you posted itself says it's too early to attribute any fall in casualties to the 20mph limit.

But anyway why stop at 20? We could save even more kiddies lives by dropping it to 10 mph.

Add a bloke walking in front of the car with a big red flag, and casualties would drop that much that people would start coming back to life!

However I'm happy to bring them in round here. Going by the existing 20mph limits we have, everyone will ignore them anyway.

Just to add to a previous debate, I still don't think Musk actually did the salute he's being accused of - but then I've only seen the live video, not the edited stuff people have been basing their opinions on.

Diminishing returns m8. You drop from 30 > 20 and people are much less likely to be killed or severely injured.

You drop from 20, what are you gaining?

Living in a place with 20 limits all over the place - apart from the first few months, you don't notice it at all. And as far as I can tell there's really good compliance.

Still not sure what you're gaining dropping to 20mph given the article you posted suggests you can't attribute any drop in fatalities to the 20mph limit.

What's the population of the area you live in?

What's that got to do with anything? The data includes Cardiff? And we're really talking about the data, not my personal observations aren't we?

For the record, however, I've driven through villages, towns and cities since it's been introduced. It was painful *everywhere* at first. But now?

Only in the really chavvy areas is it a problem (Merthyr, I'm looking at you) - but then that place was a death trap to ride my bike through ten years ago. I rode from Cardiff to Holyhead and the only place I had a problem was a twat in a BMW who stopped to abuse and threaten me for riding on a cycle path in Merthyr. That place is a fucking HOLE*.

*Edit: They of course, speak welsh at the lowest level in the country, they voted brexit hard (despite being a massive receiver of european money) and are railing physically against the 20mph limits (criminal damage). Basically the valleys are the worst of us.

You're lucky to hit 20 in town...

It's 20 through most villages here, fine with that.

20MPH? Maniacs! Large parts of central Dublin are now 30KMH (18.75MPH).

Of course the reason for most road injuries in Dublin were stoned skangers standing in the middle of the road having arguments with imaginary creatures, so I'm not actually sure whether it would be better just to give up moving at all, which is, I suspect, what Dublin City Council would actually prefer.
