NB. @Scouse. Smith was laughing at the first half of the joke, you can't really tell if he was laughing at the second half.

After Will hits Chris Rock he seems to be laughing on the way back to his seat? Maybe it's just me but then when he starts repeating "Keep my wife's name out ya fuckin' mouth" he seems to be laughing at the same time?!

Is he angry or is it that actors are more in control of their expressions and such? My point is that he didn't seem angry.

Considering he's done voiceovers with her and knows her well maybe he thought his friend would be a bit thicker skinned to take what was a rather tame off-colour joke without actual violence.

It's not like it was Jerry Sadowitz up there - deliberately trying to offend as much of his audience as he can, just because he can - to expose the fact that people's reactions are down to them and nobody else.

No excuse to punch people because of what they say. That goes double for a comedian up on a stage.

There is always an excuse, especially if the line has been crossed. Where that line is, is always up for debate. But taking the piss because your dad had died, thats over the line as far as I am concerned. You showed massive restraint there.
