I wouldn't mind spending 2 to 3 days at home and the rest of work week visiting the main office really.

It's easier to work from the office for a lot of people. That said, I can see my team of 3 people having someone working from home once a week, especially on Fridays, which tend to be longer than usual.

Problem with working from home is that you start at 7:30pm and can easily finish at 7:30pm (or later).

In the office, I'd leave home at 7, get in for 8:30 and then if I could leave at 4-4:30 I could (still, wouldn't be getting home until 6 unless I was going for a ride in the peak, at which time "work" would effectively finish 20 minutes after I'd left - but I'd not be getting home until 10:30pm).

WFH just eats up your hours. (If you've the work, of course).

Still, I'd rather do the extra at home than sit in a car burning hydrocarbons. For me - fuck the office. From now on I'll only be turning up when there's a pissup planned in the evening. At which point, hotel anyway.

I was doing that at first but now settled into a proper "office" routine so not doing crazy hours if not needed.
Getting things done I need to and all is well.

I can also login at say 7.30 check to see what emails came in to see what workload will be and then login an hour or so later to start work.
I quite like it really

I am strict with myself and i am encouraging my team to make sure it doesn't happen, working longer hours rarely means more productive people from my experience, it is easier to slip into it at home ill agree but remote work requires a bit of self discipline on that front :)

It is my responsibility to ensure that employees in my departments do not work excessive hours. I operate a flex time system where an employee can take back every hour they work over the union agreed amount at all levels of my organisation. Yesterday for example I took a flex day as it is also important for my guys to understand that taking flex time is ok. For some of them they seem to think something bad will happen to them if they do this.

Working from home has had it's issues - some of the younger members of the team "experimented" a little too much and had to increase their hours to get the normal volume of work done - however last month I questioned the need for increased flex accumulation and everyone understood that workfrom home means a little more responsibility - not only to work the hours they are being paid for in a productive way BUT also to ensure that they stop for lunch and at 16:30pm when the working day finishes.

For those in my teams that often work form home - productivity has been the same if not more.

There are some employees who insist on working over no matter how much you ask them not to - these people also do not tend to take back their flex time at the end of the year.

Its being played down or ignored by the British press, Jefff Goldblums in the shit for questioning a hajib wearing drag queen on some shit show he judges.

He questioned Islams record on LBGT, Its not live so I guess everyone knew this was coming and its all a bit of a setup , but some of the backlash has merit.
There is plenty of anti queer opinion in the christian west and there certainly has been much worse.

But a huge portion of Islamic countries ban it and quite a few still have the death penalty for it...50% of British muslims oppose the entire movement.

You post this hugely important piece of info (wonder if @Bodhi'll facepalm you for pointing it out) and @Job advertises Ru Paul's Drag Race, thinking it's "contoversial".

Had to take a journey yesterday and at 8pm there were a load of people setting off fireworks across the roads and out banging pans for nurses that'll never hear them (it's clearly about making themselves feel better (and virtuous)) - but we can't get worked up about the destruction of the natural world.

We really are fucked aren't we :(

If a hollywood star accusing Islam of homophobia isnt controversial in your house , you need to get out more.

You can see it, but you cant say it.

The Pride link I posted was very pragmatic...hes now the town racist elsewhere.

That is nothing to do with working from home, that is all to do with the job and when/if you make yourself available outside prescribed working hours.

Most people who identify as queer now are straight.

Trying to get myself a replacement dumbbell set as the locking collars are going on mine. Sold out everywhere. I don't want to spend loads on them and am staying clear of pre-owned on Ebay. Even separate locking collars are hard to get or marked up at silly prices.

I'll just have to make do
