And I have no idea why you're associating the Opium Wars with any of this since it had nothing to do with either racism or slavery.
Because it does contribute to why slavery was ended; Asia was more profitable than slavery.
Also, it's relevant because as you say, whilst the Bible is contradictory on pretty much every topic, people saw it as morally bad to engage in slavery, but it wasn't a bad thing to do get lots of people hooked on drugs, why? Because the bible condemns one but barely mentions the other.
That's why religious morality and morality are two different things as far as I'm concerned.
