I'm speechless. A proper gut is missing on each and everyone of us by the way, the bulges are too small as well

The color is accurate though - we are having 40 degrees in the sun for a week almost.

So steam link seems to work fine with zero noticeable lag on my wireless.

Thing is, my shitty 32" TV downstairs is no fun compared to my 55" 4k TV upstairs and the steam controller makes me feel like I'm disabled.

I guess point-and-click and the telltale type games would be more of a goer. Haven't tried Civ yet. That might be dangerous ;)

Could fit an 80 inch monster downstairs but frankly I didn't even really want the 32" - got better things to do than watch TV. We don't subscribe to sky or virgin or any of that shit and the aerial isn't even plugged in.

Get out. Meet friends. Talk to people, y'know...

Wow, the biggest misanthrope on FH actually suggesting we go out and meet people. Seems a bit like me suggesting someone takes up cycling :)

However having a correct sized television does not exclude you from meeting people. It just means people tend to come to you to watch the game.

We're on 50" in the bedroom and 65" in the living room, both with Sky Q.

Mostly used for watching House (again), Elementary and the Golf.

I've got the correct sized television for a living room where TV isn't the focus. It actually may go completely.

We go to the pub to watch football, if we can be arsed. If people come over we either have a barbecue and a big fire in the garden or, if the weather's shit, we'll play something like this whilst getting merrily pissed - which is far more sociable than sitting watching the telly.

Sometimes when we go round family or other people's houses they have the TV on in the background, which is fucking awful. It's like crack to some people. Rots the brain.

And this:
The wife watches ... stuff in bed.
Is a terrible thing. Bed is for fucking and sleeping. The idea that my missus could wake up on a saturday or sunday morning and choose to stick Rick Stein or Floyd on France on the telly, rather than wake me by [insert random pleasurable action here], is enough to give me waking nightmares.

Cool. We don't play board games with friends, mostly as it isn't 1986. 2 v 2 Pro Evo on the PlayStation normally does the trick.

How very "blokey" of you.

Of course, I could do that upstairs with the men and leave the women downstairs, but why on earth would I do that?

So you're suggesting women can't play Pro Evo?

Bit sexist isn't it?

Nope, but I can count on no hands the number of women I've met who've ever wanted to.

Must be something in the water down in stafford :)

Hehe you are funny. We dont usually have the tv on in the morning. But can go to bed and snuggle while she watches the program on tv.

Just because its there doesnt mean its used all the time.

And if friends are round we dont have the tv on. We talk and drink.

Have on occasion had couples lan parties. Where everyone brings their laptops etc and we play diablo or something grouped up. Its fun :).

Not done that in a while but yep.

Enjoying the odd board game in place of that tho - less faff and the analogue element adds to the experience - you're all staring at the same thing at the same time, feels more of a shared experience tbh. Well worth a go if you can get your mitts on an interesting game :)

I've got a 42" TV as my computer monitor. But then as I flat share I spend most of my time in my room anyway so it works out nicely.
