Just back from Italy. What a fabulous and gorgeous place, barely scratched the surface but desperate to go back. Stayed in Rome - saw Naples, Pompeii, went to the top of Vesuvius, visited Vatican City. Just loved it. Would love to ski in Cortina in the winter and see more of the North end.

When I went to Amalfi I visited Pompeii and Vesuvius, the view was incredible even though I was fucked after walking up the volcano. Fucking loved the place.

These people disrupt events and cause damage to property, they don't (as far as I am aware) kill anyone or do things that cause the deaths of people, so in this case I consider the use of under cover po-po over the top.

The lawyers say she has a clear cut case for false arrest and assault and the entire beach said the officers lied through their teeth.
Do in this case it was two dickheads with an agenda...clesrly out of control and facing discipline...now the world gets to see it.

My group got fined for drinking on the beach last year, police officer and a beach patrol officer. We were 18 people, had to provide 18 IDs. Thankfully, no one brought an underage friend along or we'd have had a rough time of it. The beach enforcement is a money spinner for the police force / beach force. Hand out as many fines as they can to pay for the plush pensions. If confronted, just give your name and address, they will write you a court summons, with instructions for just paying the fine on the back. Alcohol gets poured into the sand. Move on. Don't say a thing. Certainly don't be combative.

As@SilverHood says, its a money thing, not a power thing. America is full police forces doing this kind of shit, usually traffic scams, but civil forfeiture is the absolute worst example.

The American police and justice system is utterly corrupt and utterly broken from top to bottom.

Weird thing is that I didn't go nuts with the photos, kept it simple and discrete just to catch the basic essence of the place. Unfortunately, tourists have gone full on bat-shite mental - the tourist hot spots were awash with the sword fights of selfie sticks and tripods and pointless iPhone video taking that'll never be watched again. Those of far-east origin have taken the recording-obsessed behaviour to an all new high (or low..) - chest-mounted go-pro, selfie stick and DSLR all recording at the same time! Crowds of them, not just one or two, but whole families / groups with every single person with multiple recording devices. Nobody seems to stop and take it all in anymore, we're glued to our phones.
