I had this as well. I 0% southern European and 0% Jewish blood in me. Like 95% Dane and 5% northern German

A good friend of ours won medals in the paralympics and she always bitched about that Tanni Grey Thompson, said she corrupted the system to get herself easy races, looks like it has finally come home to roost and she given evidence alongside another woman to the select committee, she somehow managed to get herself as a competitor on the selection board, and our friend said there were other athletes better than her that got put into classes they couldnt hope to win in.
I doubt anything will come of it except a bit of tarnish on her reputation.

It's good at chess. A relatively simple rulebase that's learned by children. It's exactly the sort of thing that AI should be good at learning.

Ask it to understand social interactions and nuance? Meh.

Hopefully the medical breakthroughs will be spectacular.

This is what we are now dealing with and increasingly our own intellectual efforts will be pushed aside, the immense power of these tools makes farting around teaching people shit in university increasingly pointless and we have to have a discussion as to what we want from it.

no he's right. why bother spending 6 years training someone to be a doctor when specialised AI's can be at the same standard in hours/days and then improve on those techniques and invent whole new procedures without any human input.

I don't think you understand what AI does but then it's more a marketing label for the public - it's really Machine Learning. ML is good at data analysis and pattern recognition. So it'll be great for detecting cancer in images, giving the odds someone will have a heart attack based upon their medical charts but it will NOT create new procedures.
