I didn't even mention ethnicity, and answered that totally incomplete figures are bogus..because they are.

Scouses first question as to why we should concentrate on acid attacks rather than far higher murder rate.
Well that is a subjective question as so is the answer, I answered by saying that acid is used as a punishment attack, designed to inflict depression, solitude and revulsion on to the victim, so I referenced Indian Police using it for that very reason.
And also it is the huge rise in these attacks that has to be addressed, if cutting peoples ears with knives rose that quickly, there would be a response...but acid attacks are going under the radar, just as they do in rural India and that is unacceptable in London.

Acid attacks are not going under the radar - there's quite the hoo-ha about them. But at 0.69/100,000 as opposed to murder at 12.4/100,000 objectively we should be focussing more on murder than acid attacks because it's nearly twenty times more prevalent.

You didn't explicitly mention ethnicity in your first post, but posted quite a bit about it subsequently (and nearly all of your posts have an anti-muslim slant) - so it's fair game (and don't be disingenuous about your transparent motives).

But now you're on about "bogus figures". However - I used your source - the acid attacks survivors group - so you can't have it both ways. Your source is either bogus (in which case your whole case is bogus) or it's not bogus (in which case the figures on ethnicity I've provided trump your "beliefs").

So no. It's a horrible but niche and rare problem in a city of 8.6 million. It's not muslims or ethnic minorities and is generally confined to the white criminal class - and no, we shouldn't be especially focussing on it over other crimes.

The only acid attacks I've ever seen reported are the ones where it's been as a result of a disowned daughter or something and that Russian opera person.

So what about the others?

Some people don't know how electricity works. In fact, I'd say most people. He probably thought that as the phone charges on about 5V, that 5V was present on both sides of the circuit.

Sex with anyone under the age of sixteen is rape in the eyes of the law.

Technically yes, given the circumstances though it would appear that the girl and her friend lead him on to believe they were 16 and 17, can't really blame him for that, 16 is legal so in his eyes he did fuck all wrong... by the looks of the article that's what they judge seen too.

They just use common sense..as in this case..if he had been a 47yr old man , the outcome would be different.

Well, yes and no? maybe? if the judge used exactly the same train of logic as this case I doubt the outcome would have been any different, people would just react to it more negatively because of the age gap rather than the specifics.

Bottom line if a bloke meets a girl and she tells him she's XX age, what's he supposed to do? ID her? not really his fault if she says "Oh, I'm 16" and she turns out to be 12, morally wrong perhaps but 16 is perfectly legal.

By clauses you mean, laws?
Legal precedents and culture/age of assailant/situation/previous/general weirdoness/sexual activity of minor/did it happen after school or after a nightclub

People get away with it on a daily basis, as I've mentioned before 20 yr old men have escaped jail for pimping out 13yr old girls from my wifes school.
If the girl is unwilling to co operate and the evidence is weak, the case fails.
Watching the Corrie storyline atm, the wife is just...'thats exactly how it happens'

Bit of a difference to pimping out a 13 year old and sleeping with a 12 year old that told you she was 16 though. No idea how the guy pimping a 13 year old out escaped jail though, that stinks of shady dealings.

I know, it is incredible, but we're not even talking about a sink estate, this is a high ranked Girls school in a middle class area.
I am often in disbelief at the cases she refers to..no names or locations obviously, this is serious shit.
Young girls just love dodgy older men, the police just get families involved, warn the men..but convinctions are very rare.
Those Rotheram groomers are nothing unusual, I'm telling a story to some rough ass girl in a dodgy part of Liverpool and she says loads of the girls around here have sex with pakistani/arab men for drugs.
They go after the 12-15 yr olds.
It's the culture.

I think there's a distinct difference between 20 year olds and 13 year olds compared to 40 year olds and 13 year olds, some 20 year olds are just scum bags, but it's not sinister, whereas organised grooming is slightly different.

Growing up, girls were -always- going out with 18-20 year olds, and they were way below 16, it was considered pretty normal, of course the school didn't know much about it.

Fucking hell did anyone read the actual article?

BBC said:
Rape laws, which were strengthened in 2009, do not allow any child under the age of 13 to give informed consent about sexual intercourse. So if it happens, in the eyes of the law, it is rape; there is no defence of consent.

So the headline is correct. IMHO the sentencing was also correct, but that doesn't change the offence in law.

I'm guessing he actually had the extension plug on his chest, if it fell in the water, it wouldn't kill you.
Extension lead with the transformer plug in it. Obviously it did kill him hence the coroners inquest.

As it should. Lack of evidence = no case.

You are aware that Corrie and Eastenders are basically adult education for uneducated families, right? How can you stand that shit??! I die inside when I see my mum watching it :(
