Went for the John Cooper Works ! Arrives on Monday, engine from the 228i in a small car, how can those Bavarians be wrong?

Yeah BMW have nailed it with the new Mini (unless you're a classic purist) - the handling is so darty, lots and lots of fun to drive and very well refined. The interior has sparked much debate, some love it (me) because it borrows a lot of "grown up" bits from a BMW, but some find it too BMW which takes away from the quirkiness of the 2001 re-birth. Even the new 3 cylinder engines are decent, you'd have thought they were a bag of spanners but they're strong and revvy.

Excellent choice, I imagine that car with a 2 litre turbo and the Works treatment will be quite a weapon, I expect pics on Monday.

Bit I was most impressed with is the interior - it's the first Mini interior I have hated, presumably because it's more like a BMW inside. Now trying to talk the missus into a Cooper. She does less than 1000 miles a year, but clearly requires a brand new Mini. Which I can drive :)

Loved going to the flicks in the 80s and 90s. Old school. Projectionists. Grainy crackly sound at the start of the ads. The advert for the local Indian everyone used to laugh at. Popcorn on the floor. Cigarette smoke haze. Those little tiny tickets that came in a big roll. Trying to sneak into a horror movie when you were way under age

Great stuff

Switched to Vodafone 4G, what a difference, I don't know when I'm on 800/1800 or 2.6ghz, but 800 penetrates much better, full 4G bars when EE struggles to give me 1, plus 20gb and free Netflix for two years...nice.

I've got a work phone on Vodafone and my phone is on EE. Vodafones network is absolute bollocks compared to EE.

Sadly Voda is the only network that's not total gash in Ireland

A new pc would be lovely, as I suspect mine is about to melt.

So I flicked on World War Z tonight to watch the start since it was filmed in Glasgow (I went to visit the set during filming). They've done a great job in making it look "not like Glasgow", until I saw this:

Nothing screams GLASGOW like a big fat pasty ginger guy looking like he's hanging out of his arse.

Finally found a good Indian take-away in Dublin after seven years of trying. There a few good restaurants, but all the take-aways have been god-awful. We're outside the delivery zone for this place, but a friend recommended it because she knows how much I've wanted to find a really good take-away.

It was really nice. Too nice. I ate it too quickly and now I have indigestion :(
