THats an expensive and limited resource doing something social services should be doing. Glad it wasnt in the uk.
Wwhat you prefer someone to ge tbeaten up, or murdered, or some other crime they could be preventing instead of making dinner and washing up? There are people there to look after kids in that situation. Not policeHoly fuck balls.

My dad was a police inspector and they were always complaining how they were having to be part social worker and taking them away from their real jobs.Don't be a cock, I'm sure they were on call if needed.

We remove red tape, and do what? - Get them back on the streets looking bad ass 24/7?
Balance the time out, win back the respect of the people, it's no longer just yout's who dislike the Po-po, a lot of people do, hearts & minds.
Err... actually doing something, rather than writing about doing something.
Having the respect of the people is completely different from bureaucracy.
I meant when you break down the red tape, what do you do with those extra resources? - Do what looks good on paper, get them out there preventing crime, or get them talking to locals and actually communicating with people?
I know people will say 'Well yeah, their job is to prevent crime'
What about soldiers? - the vast majority of their job in recent conflicts has been talking to locals - hearts & minds - why doesn't it apply on our own soil?
It does, but you don't win hearts and minds from behind a desk is some town centre police station, you do it on the beat, in the community.
Lets not.
Paper work bollocks helps nobody. being out and about in the community both prevents crime and means criminals are brought to justice quicker.

Not being a cock just relaying what police think of having to offer social service instead of police work.
Force the out of work to care for the elderly for the living wage.
