She's probably more worried about idiotic gurning fools pointing at things and taxing them :)
To be fair Bodhs, who gives a flying fuck what Ms Klass is worrying about? It's not as if she has anything to worry about that can't firmly be classed as "first world" ;)

The bbc found it worthy. It was more a point of how fucked at spoilt kids these days. I guess it's a private school but still.

I think anyone with half a brain knows that already dont they? Low fat crap has to get its flavour from somewhere. I follow my granddad's advice. Eat whatever you like in moderation. Want a dirty big fry up? Have one...just not every day.

Well they say there is no such thing as healthy fat, but heart disease is seperate to your weight though fat people overall are less healthy because the condition can lead to problems that cause lifestyle changes that result in medical problems...but just as many skinny people die of heart disease , it's just that we pick up on it when a fat person gets it because it reinforces our presumptions.

We just need the (hugely profitable) sun screen bullshit to be debunked and we are half way there to getting our lives back from the hand wringing morons.

Agree. Sorta.

There's no doubt being a whale sat on a beach frying yourself like an idiot is bad for you - only mad dogs and englishmen, eh?

However - over zealous sun-avoidance measures by overprotective parents is giving kids ricketts because you need a bit of sun to make vitamin d - which is hard come by in diet (and supplements are chod).

Get out and play as usual, no sunscreen, stay in the shadows as much as you can. Blighty used to be covered in trees y'know ;)

On fat intake - that report isn't critical of current dietary guidelines on fat consumption. It merely points out that there was a poor scientific basis for it at the time - stupid human (not science) failure.

However the evidence base now exists - too much saturated fat IS bad for you. The guidance was right by mistake.

The fact that the food industry compensated by pumping their products full of sugar was unfortunate - it simply substituted one unhealthy thing with something possibly even worse. But that doesn't make the message about saturated fats wrong.

IMO it's irresponsible journalism to give the impression that the low-fat dietary advice is wrong.

Shirley Manson (lead singer in the band Garbage) stuck an open letter up on Facebook directed at Kanye west after captain twatface (Kanye) stormed the stage at the Grammys (I think it was the grammys) because BECK won over Beyonce (repeat of taylor swift basically) he then said after wards when talking to reporters he thinks BECK should give that award to Beyonce.

Shirley Manson's response to Kanye West

"Dear Kanye West

It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry.
You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK.
You make yourself look small and petty and spoilt.
In attempting to reduce the importance of one great talent over another, you make a mockery of all musicians and music from every genre, including your own.
Grow up and stop throwing your toys around.
You are making yourself look like a complete twat.

Ps.I am pretty certain Beyonce doesn't need you fighting any battles on her account. Seems like she's got everything covered perfectly well on her own."

I think the point is that plenty of fats found in natural food is actually good for you, despite what the hysterical "health" freaks have to say about it. Olive oil, fish oil etc and most animal fats (in moderation) also have certain health benefits. Even salt is critical to good health, removing it completely from your diet is bad, removing all fats is also bad.

Biologically speaking, humans are designed to consume different fats from different sources, including meat, nuts and fish.

I would rather eat some nice fresh meat with a nice bit of fat on from the butcher that some chemically fucked up low fat, sugar pumped bollocks recommended by the swivel headed loon from the health crowd.

I don't know about the swivel headed loons from the health crowd - but the science and scientific advice says just that - fats from natural sources, esp. fish, nuts, olive oil (unsaturated y'see) and limited saturated fats.

I don't have a single issue with the actual scientific advice - it's the reporters and fruitcakes who take that advice and put their own spin on it.

As for salt - you get more than enough in a natural diet without adding any at all. If you add a small amount for taste then there's no problem. Just as the science says.

Diet and what you should eat is a very easy subject made difficult by retards, journalists and companies with vested interests...

I dabble in a bit of music journo, and I actually LISTENED to that crappy album in an effort to see if I could discern the genius -that everyone was talking about- shining through. In the end I concluded that the people referring to West as a genuis, amongst others himself, or a game-changer, or whatever, were very much like the film people talking about how great a pleasure it was to be cast in B/C/D tier shitstain movies, or how much the director pushed the movie's envelope. The media will fuck up whatever you said or meant anyway, so meh.

When asked afterwards why he didn't grab the mic from Beck, he said something along the lines of "caring about his daughter" or some similar lies. Also, he basically said Beck isn't an established artist in his own right In the mean time carefully parasiting off Beck's well deserved limelight. Beck's seemingly casual comment of Kanye having just as much right to be on stage given the great albums he's produced, is to me in reality an uber hard burn, even though like Toh says, West will never get it. Also, the greedy fucker has a shit tonne of awards for some reason. Why he can't sit back and enjoy himself is completely beyond me. Tbh West strikes me as that dude on a road trip that just has to be in every single picture taken. Even the ones where you're romantically banging some chick you met in a diner on the hood of a car while your best bud films it. He just can't leave alone. Also, Dr Teed thinks he should have his little Beyonce fetish looked at by a pro.
