Say what you will about Israel but the Iron Dome is a very very impressive system.

Correspondents say it is common in parts of the US for children to be taught how to use firearms.

Such a cop-out. Hunting rifles and small handguns maybe (and personally I'd even disagree with that). but semi auto's, get a grip!

who hunts deer with a couple of uzi's, oh right Americans.......

Giving a 9 year a gun is bound to end up hurting someone. Killed by stupidity imo.

In related news, my green card got approved yesterday so i assume my gun will be shipped together with it, and a subscription of Redneck Monthly.

Taking a 9 year old to a gun range is bad, but seriously... if you where nine years old and your parents asked you if you wanted to shoot a gun, wouldn't you? I probably would.
When you are a kid, you see guns as something cool as hell, not as a dangerous weapon you need high respect for.

Nothing wrong with kids learning to shoot and respect rifles in a safe environment. Everything wrong with kids playing with uzis.

Aye, there's a difference between a Dad who's been hunting for generations taking his son out to show him the ropes, but taking a kid to shoot an Uzi?

Ridiculous.

That is just not true. If I had guns in my house I would want my kids to be trained to handle them safely. I kid picking up a real gun thinking its a toy and killing a sibling kills far more kids than accidents at a shooting range. Having been to that shooting range last year this accident is really surprising and I would imagine the guy flicked the safety off and the girl pulled the trigger before he could get behind her. When me and my mate were there they handed the guns over live then stood behind us with a hand on the shoulder to stop you turning or firing up.
