Excuse...me?
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0430107/?ref_=tt_cl_t4 ....as torch?
This better be real good.
Though not surprised at this, spidieman 2 didn't tank and during the Days of future past opening weekend xmen 3....that's last stand folks...outsold it in cinemas.
How are they getting around the fact he is supposed to be Susan Storms's sister? adoption
in fact! this is how they're going to fit them in together...

Dr Franklin Storm is black as well apparently.
No idea in this case but a friend of mine at school ripped his shirt having a fight and his Mum kicked his arse for ripping the shirt. After that he always took his off before fighting.Always wondered why he takes his shirt off
Agreed on that, not confident myself. Not saying these choices can't work, but does not make optimistic. It's almost like they want to Xmen this(the company behind it didn't change i believe) and think that a huge cast difference to the previous is needed.
Smells of executives.
And f*ck those who think it, i'm not racist for saying torch shouldn't be black, it's lore, it's loyalty to the brand. How about a white Shaft, or a black sherlock holmes?
Cue @old.Tohtorithat pic is actually a fairly accurate view of the gaming industry imo, except they don't care about pirates any more :-/
Except we have a black Nick Fury and in the comics there's now a Latino spider-man, so ethnicity isn't that big a deal.
I wouldthat's totally not creepy at all
You would, and you wouldn't have a choice.that's not creepy either
Ethnicity isn't, has nothing to do with it really, but movies should still owe themselves atleast a fair amount to the source material as they are sold because of that material. It doesn't mean it can't be changed, or that it makes things shite, but it does cast a shade of doubt on the loyalty of the production.
But, i'm going to use a similar caveat in the end; all depends if the movie is good or not, in which case a black human torch matters no way or other.
Its kind of debatable about the relevance of source material at this point. A typical FF comic sells, globally, about 40K copies a week. The movie audience will be expected to be in the millions, so what's driving what at this stage?
To me this seems totally racist, kinda like he gets burned so we've made him a black guy...Yea, no one questions it because they're scared they'll be branded racists but.... I can't ever remember Johnny Storm being black, I could be wrong though mind you, some hardcore marvel fan could correct me.
Better be a good movie none the less because they've already announced a sequel to it despite this one not being finished yet. I think it's got flop written all over it though, not because of the black johnny storm but because of the cast in general... I mean Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm? what the fuck were they thinking? I don't look at him and envision The Things persona, not in a million years.
