Might be waiting a while for shadowbane euro relase still suspended until further notice. BTW has anyone played on the US shadowbane from Europe? How have you found it?

Havent been able to get into the beta myself, but a few of my mates says the gfx is pretty bad and the frame rate even worse. Apparently there is alot of bugs in it to.

Im still waiting for the updated report, but i think ill play SWG instead unless they do some major changes in SB...atleast till horizons come out.

eve and daoc have almost nothing in common except that both are mmorpg's and in both you can engage in combat. But daoc is all about fighting and in eve depends what you wanna do. But the combat in daoc and eve is rather different, so it was already known by most that eve wouldnt hurt daoc much. But SB/SWG/WOW might though, allthough WOW wont come out anytime soon and about sb i didnt hear much good and swg we will have to see

I did... extremely laggy.

Both server and gfx lag. My only comp is a p3 450mhz so I had about 3-4 fps all the time. (You can check your fps, ping and stuff in SB), but I heard the final release for the end-users will provide much better servers and much better gfx.

there are graphs out there over different mmorpgs numbers. you can clearly see that a new release doesnt change alot.

IMO something needs to be done to encourage battles in other frontiers now, 111 albs in emain, naturally hibs will zerg too and mids also, it becomes a vicious zerg cycle.

You can't possibly expect us to leave 111 people farting about our frontier taking cruach then crim, last night they tried bhen. That's just stupidity.

Next time fg's start killing people in your frontier, instead of porting, go hunting. I promise to go gank your grays and greens more...

What do you mean by 'all the other new games'? Is this a prediction of what the population will be like in 2 years' time?

The population on the EU DAoC servers is still steadily rising, it has been since release and will continue to rise for a good while yet.

While it's true that many new games coming out will attract people away from DAoC, it's also true that more new players start every day and also oldies come back to play.

yes, hibs and mids need to go to HW every day and night looking for some good RvR. forget about farming the 111 albs in emain every night and get some good action in the alb frontier.

Tried Sb beta and it was a joke. No threat.

SWG I have heard is better but will only really appeal to ardent fans of the films and rp'ers. The PvP element is an afterthought.

I don't see anything out there that is gonna really threaten DAOC. Might cause a slight hiatus but not much.

Odins is usually a better bet tbh. And doesn;t tend to attract the ubar 100+ people zergs... just 5 fg from time to time.

Playing/testing SWG beta atm and to be honest it will clear alot of the servers if Mythic doesnt implament(?) something to hold the level 50`s attention. You dont need to be a SWG freak to actually get involved in it, the game has alot of depth and may attract a bigger player base for that alone...due to NDA i cant say alot but id advise anyone to go have a look at the website and see if it flicks there switch
