The lack of good co-operation is one thing that makes the difference between "uber groups" and "people in general". Either "uber groups are bad" or "lack of co-operation is bad", to say both these things - contradiction.

Maybe the reason you aint finding groups is in you, not "the people"? I for one kinda stop exhibiting those few modest social skills I have after being called a wanker a couple of times. Certainly would actively avoid grouping with someone who goes on like that. Bet most of the rest of "the people" are that way too.

Try understanding the true meaning behind the post in the first place, also the little ironies that exist between what makes an 'uber group' and 'the average player'.
And yes those people who do make up 'the uber groups' stop playing DAOC 24/7 and get a job!

oh my god ive got Skillz i can press the same button repeatedly while on the dole omg i cant speak english properly oh my god.
I cant talk without using using the word n00be or skillz or uber or you sux or anything that would be in any english dictionary OMG.
Perhaps its because people speak like this, they don't have jobs because they lack an education or are they just lacking skillz in real life. Oh my god my english sux god damn what a n00be!

This game is as much fun as you wanna make it.. take it too seriously and you wont have as much fun imo.
I lurve my 50 Lurichamp on exc/hib.. just for the fact i dont have to exp anymore really.. big relief. that and the fact i can help others to get there too
Endgame aint just rvr.. its helping guildies, big raids.. even crafting!.
Whatever u wanna do! ..as long as it's fun.. or else no point in playing is there? DaoC aint a job.. you dont have to turn up everyday (..and deal with crazy women shouting at you.. /shudder)

Well I still like DAOC, i've had my short breaks, beta PS, beta EVE, release EVE, but come back to DAOC. Why, well manily cause of the people. Before i started playing DAOC i bought on average 2-3 games a month and got tired of them as soon as i completed them. DAOC is still after 1.5 years still fun to play. And you see thoose old players comming back as a new patch arrives, perhaps many of them will come back with the rvr addon.

I've played DAoC for 1 and a half years, and personally I think its one of the best games i've ever played (and i've played games for over 25 years!). I've really enjoyed playing, meeting people, etc.
What I am finding now that I have a lvl50 character, is that if I want to do anything at all worthwhile, I need to spend hours getting it all organised. If I goto RvR it is essential to have a full balanced group unless you want to spend endless hours at the PK waiting to port back. If I want to do some high lvl PvE, then groups need sorting or you can't consider going to areas like Caer Sidi.
In a typical evening I am willing to play for one or two hours. In that time it is unlikely that I can get a RvR or PvE group sorted out. So instead I now tend to do something else, like play another game.
The game has to provide for all people, but I think at the moment, at lvl50, there is no content for casual players, and that this should really be the focus of the developers as casual players are, i'd imagine, the bulk of the consumer base at this stage of the games lifecycle.

Before anyone gifvs me crap about having some working class chip on their shoulder: I'd be very suprised if anybody reading this is - you either own a computer; are sat in front of one at work; or just know how to operate one to the degree that you can surf the web and play an online roleplaying game.
Also notice the correct use of the semi-colon in the previous sentence. Yes I am middle class \o/
Lets leave class out of it: the internet is a great leveller...

I'm not uber, I'm no nerd, and I'm enjoying myself, so YOU must be doing something wrong.
I'm playing in RvR groups at the highest level, I'm helping friends in PvE, I'm joining in Sidi raids, all of which are enjoyable.
You just need a decent guild I think

One thing for sure, irc totally fucks the game up sometimes,heh rvr in like hw for example at late nights all of a sudden a fg of guild from another realm come there when least expected or they attack you at a keep that isn't on route to any destination.
Fucking pointless playing sometimes when idiots tell other enemies where people are.... just like relic raids too.
