I don't go to #quake2.uk but after reading this thread I've a few things to say...

It seems that #quake2.uk no longer actually remains for the discussion of Quake2 but rather as a social club for a group of like minded individuals.

It seems this is the choice of the owners and ultimately they have the final say in this matter.

The owners of the channel, like a landlord of a pub, have the right to admit or refuse entry to anyone they choose. Just because it's a public channel, doesn't mean the public have any sort of rights or say about how the channel is run. Unless the owners allow it.

I used to work in a private members club which was supposed to be an Anglers Association (Y'know..fishermen). Half of the guys had never even been in a boat, let alone been fishing. The point being that just because a place is named after something, doesn't mean that's it's only purpose or theme. In fact, the theme of a place is ultimately decided by the clientele.

IRC, and the internet for that matter, allow a wealth of posibilities for those wishing to start their own gathering places. If there are so many people who want a channel specifically for Q2 discussion then create one called #q2discussion and p1mp it here to let those who no longer like frequenting #quake2.uk that there is a place to go for those who only wish to base their conversation around Q2.

If everyone was being reasonable, the #quake2.uk owners would hand over their ownership to people who truely were fans of everything Q2 and who like to talk about it 24/7. But the fact is it's gotten way past reasonable and I would hazard a guess that the regualrs in #quake2.uk are staying put simply on principle. Which leaves others no choice but to create their own channel with a Q2 Discussion themed name and p1mp it to make it well known.

Now is there really much else to talk about? #Quake2.uk is owned and frequented by people who have long since given up basing their conversations on Q2 and no one can do a blind bit about it. So why bother going on about it? Create your own little channel and keep it seperate. Simple.

Ok i guess. I did me two Geography exams today and they went OK. Also did me GCSE maths resit the day before, hehe, that was very easy And i dont take the Business studies exams until January so thats sorted.

Because loads of cunts from #bwtl decided to come in and act like cocks one evening. True it doesn't have as much ppl in it as #quake2.uk does, but i see that as a good thing as it means you dont have about 40 ppl talkking at one time.

And no there isn't only 4 ppl or something. About 6 of us go to the same school and have known eachother for a while, and there are others who come there sometimes/on a regular basis. In fact in the process of writing this, someone called TIG3R is here, but we haven't got a clue who he is Even exor struts his stuff in there occasionaly.

But thats how we like it, as you dont get constant flooding as you get in other large channels

Do you have even half a fucking braincell? My point in the first place was that we often get invaded by floods of morons from other channels. One of those channels is #f00fighters, from where turds such as you, Mitche, Slicer, Kingbean, etc, originate. So why on earth would I need to go in there? After all half this board is covered with your bitching about why we won't let you into #q2.uk (which is bizarre, if you think it's full of flids why on earth you'd want to go in there is beyond me) - I don't need to come to your crappy channel, you all come to us.
