The OT excal/pry forums were established with the dual purpose of stopping people posting mindless drivel in the DAoC sections and tangenting people's threads, and to help give people space to talk as a community and let their hair down.

Which community was this that you consulted? Why wasnt it the community that would be affected, the ONLY community that would be affected by the closing of that forum.

So I was right, the Excal OT forum is just here to draw the crap away from the other forums... Much like how we used the Camlann RvR forums...

Oh well, looks like I'll just have to keep 'tangenting' threads to talk to people.

There was a thread about it in the Camlan forum that, surprisingly, tangented wildly then got covered in dust from lack of interaction. There was also a discussion about forum changes in the General section for all DAoC some time back.

That was the whole idea of the thread, BlitheringIdiot. Which I suppose, maybe in a way, avoiding tangenting would be according to the thread as well. Because if it's a thread about thread-hijacking, wouldn't it be hijacking this thread to NOT tangent off the thread topic? my brain hurts
