Finally a BG with some action

At first I was dissapointed when seeing how few peeps actually use the Cale BG....so I decided to try Thid and hoped for some more activity.

Happy I did....havent had this much fun in Daoc for a long time. Must say I am impressed by some of the coordination between the alb infiltrators...more than I can say about our stealthers. No offence guys you are doing good on your own but could do better if working together.

A shame that we dont see more hibs thoug....

Btw gw to Salin and the 2 or 3 infiltrators that led me into a trap the other day by the hib bridge....was good fun even after being totally wasted

Infiltrators aren weak if you ask me...If they know how to work together then there is nothing they cant beat. Just like any other class

We had our battles Leganza and I am hoping for more to come....

Agree with Flamin there, skalds has to be the mid class i hate the most, and solely for those stuns and mezzes

And Khaizer used up a few of those on me the other day had great fun sneaking into your group, missing pa just to get stunned a sec later

This is my first skald and I am a bit surprised how well they do in PvP. I can almost handle every situation (unless 10 tincans corner me and beat me up to bloddy pulp But catching fleeing minstrels is something that I have managed pretty well )
So if the BG stays this busy then I am not sure I wanna keep lvling this skald

Well my shammy dinged 20 today and I took him to Thrid. Was good fun in all. But being the single support class in there my power bar had a hard time keeping up with the rezzes.

Sorry to the infils and the lone elf nightshade that tried to backstab me when resting. I think none of you survived

Well, you'll be kicked out soon enough. Like we all were. Then go sit in Murd and whine about no enemies.

As for who beats a skald. Well. They can be beaten. One on One in Thidranki, no, they can't. With instant snare and shouts, you can always run. In fact, a good skald can take on two enemy rogue classes and win.

Thidranki over emphasises the "effectiveness" of some classes. Poor mages are at the mercy of a multitude of stealthers, and the stealthers are at the mercy of the skalds and minstrels who in turn can get flattened by tanks who in turn get toasted by mages. Just happens that there are a lot of stealthers, and the few minstrels and skalds there are are stretched to their limits.

As someone said a while back. You'll see a lot of characters enter Thidranki, leave because of RP's, half will level to 29 to enter Murd, and then go dorment, because Murd is really totally owned by stealthers.

<shrugs> Thid is nice for mayhem, but it's a stage, with set borders and very little tactics. Nothing compared to real RvR.

No but it is fun and a welcome relief from Leveling and being ganked by purple conns..

And to the Alb Scout I killed a few times including freshly rezzed (as in Rezz , 3 seconds dead) sorry about the Rezz kill but i had an arrow nocked and you were the only target left in range.

Was fun fights though till i ran out of ammo and left..

And you guys should look behind you more often

I better slow down my kills else i will get booted out of Thid BG before even reaching L21

Murd and Cale are so dead, can we not arrange an evening where they get used??

Lots of new fun aspects gets a boost in Murd, such as climbing keep walls if I am correct? I'm just a noob stealther, how should I know ;>

All it takes to get 29 is a couple of evenings in a good group hunting stuff in the northern part of Lyonesse.

Well, agree with whoever said Minstrels had their work cut out for them, just got my minstrel up to 24 last night, and geez... tough job And that quickbar.. sigh!

Love to see more hibs in thidranki to backstab the mids tho, and come on, DO use Murd when you've been capped outta Thidranki, forget 29, 25-26 can be as fun, for a while

Thid is great fun, yes. I love sneaking around and targetting Infiltrators. It takes some getting used to, though, playing an SB. =)

Yes. SB's do indeed own all the other stealthers. Plain and simple. A 2-H Axe/sword PA can one shot an enemy stealther. Don't think that's right...but hey, every class is supposed to have something they're good at.

Advice to Infils and Nightshades. Just ignore SB's, don't try hunt them unless there's more of you (assassins) and you have other classes to support you who not running around like headless chickens.

Just go for their runeys. The kobolds are nice and soft.

A lone sb vs. usual team of 2-3 infis is no problem - leader unstealth him, follower proceed with critical. Sometimes an occasional elven stabber can be used for this task /waves Luon
And solo ecounters ... well, dunno, seems most of the time i get outlagged and see that i miss pa cause opponent attacked first only during dirtnap-log-examination But when i`m not - its sweet

Although sb team or sb backed up by hunters is another question

Well Brannor as you might have noticed we are not whining. We are actually saying that we enjoy the battles in the Thid BG.

No its not the same as RvR but as somone said its a good break from levling.


Remember it is supposed to be fun playing these games....and unfortunetly many players tend to forget that.

Not to forget, that in thidranki you got the very nice njessi weapon to use... Huge bonus for mids unless there are something similar in albion (didn't notice in hibernia)

Just beware though, is that just me standing there or are there 2 stealthed kobold SB's 'stacked' on top of me? (At least 2 infs and a NS tried the soft target standing all alone yesterday)

Noob Question: What's BG? I read everyday about it..not knowing what it is. Wasn't in Beta thats for sure..although I didn't play much back then so I might have missed it. Still waiting my copy to arrive from shop.

BG is the abbreviation for Battleground. There are three of them since the last patch (1.48). They are level and realm point restricted.

Already got raped in Thidranki twice by the same skald, lost his namn I'm afraid, Blo..ir? somthing...

I stun him, shout him for 100, hits him for 20-30 He snares me, shouts me for.. well something, then hits me over the head worth 120, geez cant compete with that :/

Fun fight tho, you really proved that there's a lot of work to be done.

Mids, where were your SB's tonight? Cabo was there for a bit...but he left? Kicked out? Scared? Ok, so we had quite a lot of Infils...and your mages felt that didn't they? Please note, Silly skalds shouldn't stand still. Otherwise expect 2/3 Perf Arteries... = Dead Skald before he knows what hit him.

I must say, I really did enjoy watching your skalds, and everyone else, run around in circles outside our portal keep trying to find us, while we just waltzed in, and assassinated another mage or two.

To the other infils, you were tremendous. A totally great team, linked by nothing other than a chat group and common targets. Let us not forget our mages, friar, cleric and armsmen that supported us and sometimes dealt out serious damage themselves.
