I wasn't aiming any aggression at you, or anyone on this board. I was stating that people are not over-reacting when they threaten violence on people who do that sort of thing to animals.

"You" was a very loose term aimed at no-one in particular.

I don't think any amount of violence is too much to be inflicted on these people. When you've had a pet for 10+ years, they're not "just a cat" or "just a dog", they're family. I know what it's like having a cat that's been scuttling round your house for TWENTY years put down infront of you. And if that had to be done because someone shot it and left it to crawl round in pain and without the use of its back legs I would be out for the harshest possible revenge you could imagine.

If I knew who did it, I'd put them down, and when they were down I'd kick them and kick them and kick them until they stopped moving. I would bury my foot deep into their face until their blood colours the pavement. Then I'd kick them some more.

Like the guy above sez(can't remember your name, sorry)when and if you are ready, get a cat from a rescue home then at least theres one more that won't be subjected to cruelty(unless your friendly air gun dick returns).

well, we moved to this house about 4 years ago, and all has been quiet until recently, we moved from our old house because the people round there where bastards, and they pretty much drove us out, but they dont come near to what these people did

Hmm, it seems we will possibly be getting a new Cat, because my other cat seems to be very Upset, he isnt Playful anymore, all he does is stare and sleep.. so we may possibly go to a Cat Centre and get a Cat which is around 8years old.

He told his mates in the pub that night thinking it was funny and they reported him to the police

On the police not being much help subject I was told this in the pub the other night :-

A guy came home on a Tuesday night, to find his shed had been broken into and a bunch of stuff stolen, naturally he rang the police. The operator asked if the burgular was still there, and when told that he didn't think so, she said that they'd try to send someone round by the weekend!

Obviously this incensed the victim, who thought about this for the next 10 minutes or so, then rang the police again to say he'd just shot a burgular who was breaking into his shed. The police arrived within 3 minutes, 3 patrol cars, and an armed response vehicle.

When they spoke to him he claimed the operator must have misheard him, as he doesn't even own a gun, but while they're there could they take a look at his shed please?

I don't know whether he got in any trouble, i'd guess he would have, but I thought this sort of fit in this thread, cos of the police apathy aspect....

BTW, shooting a cat? low life scumfucks!!!

Oh i was gonna come to this again, 2 Teenagers come to our house before, saying they seen the advert in the paper and the local shop (i was out at the time)...

Anyway, mum answered, and they said they know who may know who has done it, because what this kid does, is shoot things from his bedroom window, but before they give a name, they said "What is the Reward, how much is it" so mum said its such and such (i aint sure how much - i wasnt in) so then they proceeded to show her where this kid lived, and as we thought, he lived across the road, but at the back of the houses over there. So now we're waiting on the kids to get back to us with more info..

My brothers neighbours were right c@#ts and one day threatened his wife and her dogs with a air pistol.

When they phoned the police the cops said..

"Are you sure it was an 'air' pistol and not a real one?"

"Pretty sure" they said.

"Are you REALLY sure?" replied the copper.

"Well maybe it was real but I doubt it" said my brother.

"Ok" said the cop "We'll be right round".

15 mins later the dibbles turned up in force, cordenend off the area and sent in an armed response team. You know the guys, all black body armour and Heckler & Koch Assault rifles. Seems they were just WAITING for an excuse to search the neighbours house without warning. Busted them on possesion with intent to sell.

If these evil little fucks have any rap, they may yet get there just desserts.

Hmm, more news on this situation....

This mornin, a guy knocked on our Door saying he is 99.9% Certain he knows who did it..

He said, he once had a High Powerered Slug Gun, and a Hunters Knife, but one day, a lad come to his house and while he was upstairs this lad took both weapons. This was around April/May so its quite possible he done it.. BUT

As i said, a few days ago, 2 lads come knocking on my door, saying they know who done it, now my Mum thought these 2 where very suspicious, because they where watching our House the day the Cat was shot.

The guy who come said the kids always wear Baseball Caps, and sit on their Bikes, just riding round. And guess what.. the kids who come match the description, he described them as a pretty violent pair.

He give us the names of the kids, because he knows them (one lives in his Close) and he said the minute he notice the weapons where missing, he phoned the police straight away, but, they dont seem to give a shit.

He said the Gun had a Telescopic Lens, which was very powerful, you could easily see something a mile or so away. He used it for Hunting rabbits on his Sisters Farm in Liverpool.. so its quite possible they shot the Cat from a distance where nobody could see them.

When the man told us the name of the lads, who are 14/15, he mentioned one name and i looked up, i knew one of the lads, his name rang a bell inside my head, and he lives just behind my house..

My mum rang the Police after he left, but once again, they seems to not be interested, not sure if she has rang the RSPCA yet, im sure they will do something...

So, we know who definatly done it, the hard thing is gonna fuckin prove that they did do it... im sure i could force it out of them, but i dont wanna resort to their level of violence... just yet

You don't have to resort to violence. If you are certain you know who they are then simply keep an eye on them, it is the nature of the beast to make mistakes and a small word in the right ear can make things very uncomfortable for them, and you don't have to get involved and risk yourself.

If these kids already have a reputation then use it against them, next time some car gets vandalised you can anonymously inform the owner you are 100% certain who it was ...

As nice as it is to let people know who their tormentor is, it unfortunately cuts short your vengence. You have almost zero chance of bringing these people to justice, even if the police were interested in the first place, and this quite often exposes you as their enemy and can have nasty consequences.

Enacting swift revenge is often a short-lived affair, I like my enemies to suffer for longer. Instead of scratching up car paintwork you can remove or disfigure the number plates - far more aggrevating and disruptive.

Gray, my belated condolences. I love my cat to death, and couldn't bare to lose him in such a horrible manner. Any more news on finding who did this? Let me know.

Interesting points in this thread, especially from Damini. I find animal cruelty much more sickening than humans being cruel to one another, probably because the latter is what I've come to subconsciously expect from people. It doesn't help when I spend so much time reading up on stuff in history such as the Holocaust though.

I'd also like to reiterate points made by many people, primarily Exor. If anyone harmed my cat (and somebody tried to do so, once) I would fucking damage them. I'd probably hurt anybody I saw torturing or being cruel to ANY animal. Some people are so disturbed it really makes you think, no?

My cats has just had kittens, 3 of the little buggers, and I don't what I would do if anything happened to them.
