The Soloing Poll (vote even if you don't solo)

Oh behave all of you, Theres no reason why you cant solo, solo is what you do, its not based on other peoples actions. The fact 'i solo but i dont like getting added on' is top is also quite funny, I solo pretty much 24/7 in Agramon, last night i got 28k, today i got 31k, With very few adds.
Now maybe thats because i dont add on other people, so they dont add on me, or prehaps its that i know who to fight, where to fight, and most importantly
when to fight.
Either way, if you want to solo, theres no reason on earth that would stop you. No matter how much you try and justify it

(And for those who say 'its not as fun on your own', Well i for one find it more fun having a 1on1 with another person, pitting your char against theres in a fair battle to decide a winner, than to say.. kill a soloer with 3/4ppl who has no chance of fighting back, But hey, whatever floats your boat)

Or maybe its because your a stealther so can avoid the groups taht zerg you down

Imo there are more mids who go out solo/duo/trio, then hibs ;<. Hibs should come out too imo ><.

nah, they always use sos + group insta, purge... Would be sick if 2 guys would be able to kill em, no? ^^

edit: but mebbe we should try it in the cluster if there are many groups, hrhr. Make a temp with 26 piety cap, and nice resists + hp, malice/harpy feather, tablet of atlantis. And get aug acu x, mom x, wp x, for both reaver... -)
Would be the ideal bomb setup. If there would be enough reaver to make one, and they would make a temp like this and respecc their ra like this... But no1 would make it imo, and it's only good for RP farm, and for fun in the first weeks.

but needs to be at certain times or fg's will take you down (if your not a stealther)

well, looks like u got some skill, only using purge3 when u stood in stun more then 2 sec , tricky ^^. And u hit a bit bigged, mebbe u switched ur emerald set to a shappire one? -)

but still, even with purge3 up, I can kill u (not always, but thats still nice vs a warlock, and nerf my 15% matter resist -( )

Talking about soloing and adding...
...had some funny thing happen tonight.

I logged my sorc on for the first time after clustering and ran towards Agramon. In the area between the two alb bridges I saw an inf fighting an SB (they just popped each other). So I thought "Okay, lets not add and let them have a fun 1vs1" and ran past them (It was very obvious that I won't join in, imo)

Then the SB stopped fighting the inf, hit sprint and attacked me.

So I had to /sprint, /face /lifetapforthewin and kill him.

the biggest problem isnt the amount of people who solo. That figure as a percentage i dont think changes much.

What they have never managed to get sorted is an RVR where its territorially neutral for all to fight. thats the foundations of the "add problem"

Now if u dont think about it to much u say hold on agramon is the perfect solution to this... but it isnt..

you have 3 channels going into agramon which are the routes people go to fight... U go where the prey is... but unless u go right slap bang in the middle you are going to be a on a route.

the problem is the design is like a conveyor belt of adds. and what happens is the lazy players rvr prety much exclusivly on there own doorstep.

So some of the peeps that say I solo all the time but they camp like bridge 1 from beno or bleed etc... these type of players cause a problem.

So basically as a hib if I try and RVR in my enemies terrirtory its like hardcore mode with constant adds. Same for a mid that comes to hib.

Now the facts. Hib route into agramon is like the quietest area. If the alb and mid soloers dont actually get off their ass and try and fight in enemy territory is kind of fooks it up abit.

mind u ofc theres some benefits of fighting in certain busy areas because u get a lot of the roglord easy kills. Thats what I think forces hibs to hunt abroad more than any of the other realms.

I find soloing something horrendously boring, when not an exercise in futility, at least in NF ... can't say about OF as my stealther is not that old. I have enough stress in RL to afford adding some more because "I can't find a clean solo fight in an island with hundreds players in it qq qq", let's say I get the hint first and avoid proving it true after. Probably were I playing a true assassin class outside the primetime I'm forced to, I'd see things differently.

I solo quite alot, and i find it ok i suppose.. its pretty much down to zerg vs zerg tho. Few solo fights now and again. We get rolled by fg´s but i would do the same in their position. So i think its okay atm.
The bridges where a bad ideer tho.

I like to solo but hate it when i get adds that i cant kill as well, however i love adds when i kill them.

8k in 25minutes due to archers keep trying to add as fights end and dying is fun

I don't solo on scouts anymore, use to go to hib and xp kill (lame? - well I just see it as spicing up the frontiers). Thing that annoys me about some albs on prydwen that whine is they go on and on about adding, but they're standing on beno bridge, en-route to Agramon or in some other high traffic area. If you want to solo go elsewhere!

Incidentally just had a nice fight this morning with Eso of Excalibur. Nice to see that not only stealthers running solo these days /respect

I still prefer to solo, but its a labour of love rather then for rps now. Its not because of the people, theres always been the same ratio of assholes, adders and good fighters, as mentioned already its about the landscape and where the traffic is.

Everytime a nice area gets establish, full groups of lamers run there to spoil it for there 100 rps each, the once nice Renaris/Bold route is a prime example. Though the vampiir class is largely responsible for that area's destruction.
However I do attempt vermin control in the area when they get to pesky.

Agramon crossing is the safe bet for garunteed action but 9 fights out of 10 you WILL be outnumbered, and worse, even if you start to win the cowards will just run away.

Personally I try mid crossing more often now but thats only marginally better and just has an increased chance of meeting 1-button-wonders like warlocks.

I'll try hib crossing more if theres better action there however again the soloers there will still have the risk of full groups passing through into agramon. This is why bold used to be good, very little through traffic.


Personally I think Hadrians wall, on either side of Beno, either between berks and beno or around opulans peninsula/coast away from the bridges would be ideal spots.

I love soloing, but Im not a "duelist". A fight does not have to be fair for me to enjoy it, so I dont mind adds. I do of course prefer fights where either side has a chance of winning.

It's just too bad NF is absolutely horrible for soloing.
