I daresay that is true. But look at the environments that we fight in ... control centres aren't known for their wide open spaces. Hence a particularly good close quarter weapon is a huge advantage to the NC.

You know some VS commanders actually ask their squad members if they mind fighting the NC -- it gets a bit dull being blasted by the 1,000,001st jackhammer in one evening...
