i consider it a fix, now stay off enchanters, they are fine now (ie lots of dmg, no utility)

Also, move the resist debuffs in Mana spec 5 levels higher :D

What am I missing?

Debuff == uitility... Run speed == utility... And stun shouldnt be moved, it should be removed...

If you want a no-utility caster... Play a fire-wizard...

To the experienced chanters out there:

What does the chanter bring a group besides stun, speed and pbaoe and are those 3 enought to make them wanted in groups?
How wanted are light chanters?

1v1 a chanter is an awesome character, but how valuable are they to a group?

Chanter has higher damage than any other hib caster and still gets a pet. Hmm, time to nerf them. ;)

why do all of you ppl need to break down every class that comes along? there will be a day when the only class around will be the fighter and everyone has the same hp and can only spec in slash. wanna bet theres stil whiners...

edit: yes im sick and tired of this nerf this and that discussion

so its better if you can play an uber class and pwn everyone? what happens after a while.. well.. everyone rolls an uber class char - and thats the fucking same thing.

Well infiltrators are a good example on Albion...

You just cant get a group without atleast 1 these days... Why, because there arent enough classes readily available to fill a group... Oh and its hardly ever the same inf...

Why does everyone (and their mom) roll an inf? Because they are 'uber' ... Why do you hardly see paladins, cause they 'suck' ...

More recently its been Friars though, everyone seems to roll a friar...

But they fixed LoS (or so they say on the herald) in 1.58b ... If thats true, I'm a happy man...

i said, the LOS thing is a fix,that was somthing that needed fixing, its done now
assasins should have never had ip (would be beter if it just didnt exist) bc now they can securley go into every fight and now they will win. they can even take on tanks if they play it right, but thats another discussion

Chanters should never have had heat debuffs IMO, or the heat debuff should be fixed to work more like stat debuffs (i.e. much less effective on unbuffed chars). Also it should be on enhancements, as there's no reason to spec that line atm.

Yep yep... how about taking everything away from chanters and make em walking rp´s? :)

Anyway... i doubt im around to see the day that patch comes out, but more and more this game is going towards tank vs tank fighting... time to look for new games for me...

And about light chanters... they can offer stun and dd to groups... every other mage has more variety... no aoe, no mez, no root and ppl want to take even the stun away...

Edit: And thread starter was a theurgist? How about taking that chainstun away from your bloody airpets?

Actually, my theurg is earth/ice specced and is only played when my guild needs PBT for raids.

And besides... A Theurgist at least needs line of sight on the target in order to cast the pets. Plus the pets need to walk to the target, etc, etc, etc... Really cannot compare Theurgists 'physical DoTs' to Enchanter pets :rolleyes:


Oh.... and waaaa, waaaa, waaaa... Infiltrators are being nerfed too... waaaa, waaaa, waaaaaaaaaa ;)

Just had to point out i started out enchanter when it was considered crappiest class in 3 realms... just because i thought it was fun to have a pet... that time pet knew exactly how to walk to target and try to hit it... you couldnt even cast damageshield on it. Now im considered overpowered... whatever... nerf everything and leave tanks and pbt´s to play.

Edit: Didnt think that LoS fix is a nerf... its totally ok... but when ppl start crying about that snaredd which is about only distant relative to CC we have... hmm... how about fixing that archer LoS on firing too... been behind wall for 4 secs and then i get arrow fired from scout? Some1 explain the logic.

The pet does significant - not huge, but way too much to ignore for any length of time - damage despite being blue-con... OK, the LOS will get fixed but it should still no way snare. Not when the chanter itself can do so much damage, and doesn't lose speed when the pet is in combat, and has stun...

Only class that has a chance 1v1 against a chanter is the minstrel, and even then only if the minstrel gets the drop on the chanter from stealth and manages to mezz the pet...

we do drop speed if pet attacks

I stand corrected.
Incidentally I can't see any huge problem with the heat debuff being in a line that chanters actually SPEC (as opposed to putting it in enchantments, as someone suggested) since they already nerfed its cast time. Could stand to be a whee bit slower still as it's, what, 2sec base cast time atm? Dunno, can't say that when I die to a chanter, it's because they heat-debuffed me first. :p

they still need to give the eldritch the proper PBAoE casting time and fix the enchanter one :)

(the damage caster gets _slower_ pbaoe than the pet one? anyone else confused by this?)

maybe bc the eld also has: snare DD, ae disease, con/str/dex/quick ae debuffs, ae mez, high dmg DD's, bolts, ...

and they have 3.0 specpoints so they can get all that..

..oh.. they dont.

Well I generally dont like the idea of Mythic playing around with classes...... but, you look on PVP and you see the number of chanters compared to other classes and you know that something has to be done....

If they can fix the LOS issue, then thats progress.. the DD snare is still very very deadly and debaitably needs Tweeking...

TBH the thing with all primary pet classes is that if the pet gets to you, your pretty much fecked.... however chanters have a massive advantage in that area with the snare pet cuz of the range on its attack...

1v1 once that snare pets starts DD'ing your dead meat, no escape and little chance to get to the chanter to kill him.....

Combine that with chanters speed and you easily have a supreme PVP class thats on a different lvl to all other classes....

In terms of an RVR server though where its 70% grps 28% zergs 1.999% buffed Assasins and 0.001% true solo players, the chanters uberness seems to get disguised more....

Id like to see mythic do something "subtle" with this class....

god knows they fecked archers over big time, and we were only ever good at killing mages, this class fears nothing and destroys everything..... I think sooner or later a nerf will come....

enchanter pet snare only matters heavily in 1v1 and on pvp it is Much more often than on usual servers
in fg vs fg fight that snare wont affect in some noticeble way
most who dont like snare pets(ie whine) are mincers-skalds-assassins coz enchanter sometimes isnt that easy rps as other casters are- so.. SHOULD BE NERFED yeah!
enchanter and eld pbaoe speed with buffs dont really differ a lot since ench speed caps at 2 and elds at 2.25 with yellow-blue dex
and eld has MUCH more fun spells then ench -ench actually only has pet &heat debuff for himself to burn his mana with base heat spell-should be nerfed yeah?
about ench speed he gives to group -only albs like to move around with mage speed with 20 solo mincers around hibs dont go out wo bard so that uber speed utility =zero
and los-nice that they fixed it took em a WHILE^^
