Despite my avatar and certain people's signatures, I do not read the daily mail. However, I'm getting all Mary Whitehouse about this program. Anyone seen it?
I just saw a couple of minutes on it, and they were giving some advice to a 16 year old girl. She felt her last boyfriend dumped her because she didn't want to have sex doggy style. That's an easy one I think -
"He's a ****, love. If that's why he dumped you then you're best shot of him. You're 16 years old and it's pretty fucking normal that you'd be uncomfortable with some stuff. Don't worry about it and don't do anything you're not comfortable with."
Is what should have been said, in my increasingly conservative-appearing opinion. What the 'expert' actually said was "well, here's a bunch of alternative positions you might like to try." The subtext this insecure 16 year old presumably taking from that is "well clearly you're a prudish cow, do some more interesting shit and you'll keep your fella interested."
ARGH. Rage.
