The ideal group

Ok this is a question i thought of whilst reading a post from Turamber. If you Had to pick a group of albs to group with who would they be.

List your ideal group from 1 to 8


Salazzar
5oth level Scout
Lionhearts

2 Paladins
1 Armsman
1 Cleric
1 Scout
1 Theurgist
1 Sorcerer
1 Minstrel

For RvR:
1 Minstrel (with good stealth)
1 Scout (with Truesight)
6 Infiltrators

1) Cabalist and Wizzy at Tanglers

3 S/S Paladins
1 Minstrel
2 Wizzies (With high ice)
1 Cleric (high rejuv/enhance)

Oh, and the Paladins would have to have some intelligence. Not a lot, but a little.

For me it wouldn't be a question of which classes as much as which players.

If I trust the people I am grouped with, it is the perfect group and we are able to do things like taking all the named in Quarry in a 7 man group.

ive just noticed none of you would put a merc in your ideal Group for PvE and for RvR

maybe a shield specced merc, if the mobs had +s versus crush and -vs versus chain :d

Ok OK come on tell me what is rong with fully speced Duel Weild and slash/thrust/crush mercs we can kill mobs fast and with ease

I could never play a S/S charector they are just too boring because its hit mob get agro get hit hit back all the time

So... the exciting thing for you is to just hit. And then occassionally get hit, and when you do get all panicy because you think you're about to die?

As far as I can see, all you like doing is hitting mobs, and think the extra element of sword and shield tanking (ie, holding and maintaining aggro) is boring. Hmm.

That isn't true at all,most people who thinks a merc is there to die should shut up and try playing one whos 50/50/28 spec and realise how hard they hit and how well they can do pve.

AS I SAID lots of times there is no gimped class.

People who underate classes that they havent tried at lv50 should be quiet

well my merc tends to get agro off fully speced S/S Armsmen and Pallys i like it because we need skill to survie.

Like all our attacks are position bassed i.e from side/back

i am not dissing all you pallys/armsmen out their.

People like you guys cos you can realy take agro and a beating were us mercs need a bit more healing but we will kill the mob faster than any other class ect infs/casters.

i just dont get why so many people would perfer a full group of Tanks rather than have just one merc.

<sighs> Matt, I wasn't saying Mercs were 'gimped'. And I know how your Merc rules all and what-not, so I wouldn't dare say that around somewhere where you post lest I get a reply like this.

I was mearly saying that I found it weird that he described an Armsman's job as 'Hitting and getting hit' and said that was boring. I was just wondering what the hell he did in a group to make it interesting for him if getting hit and hitting was boring, and where the differences are.

But I've obviously been told; Matt's Merc is uber!

Guys i would love to set up a challange 7 mercs and a crazy healer

against

7 armsman/pallidins and one cleric

on a mob and both pull at the same time and see who can kill it befor the other with the amount of power on the cleric at the end.

i know everyone plays their charector their own way and has their own veiws but i would like to show to Albion just what us mercs can do given just a slight chance.

I did that to annoy people and already said that,anyway this not directed to you and this is to people in general.A merc is for damage dealing while others tank we dish out the damage,yet in rvr you have to deal out damage rather than take it i even had this said from lv50 paladins.

Reason why i was saying mercs are good i know i was saying mine was but the main point of it was to make people realise such a underplayed class and underated should not be laughed at by others who dont have a clue what they are like.

None of that was aimed at you just to make people aware ok.

what is Gimped?

Small definition as in DAoC terms: -

Gimp: - to be gimped is to have missed placed points on your spec's

Gimped: - to have respected but again missed placed points so that you will not be able to correct your mistake
