World War One happened due to a number of reasons really, it was generally because there hadn't been a major war within Europe for a number of years, and the build up of allegiances meant that some steam soon had to be let out.

the Assassination of Arch Duke Franz Ferdinand (TAAKKEE MEE OUT dudu-dududlu-[Sorry]) by Gavrilo Princip (Who was an Athiest) was a catalyst to the start of the war due to over-lapping of silly alliances, Austria went to war with Serbia because of the assassination and their handling of it, then Russia dived in because they were allied with Serbia, Germany dived in because of their allegiance with Russia and France dived in because of their allegiance with Russia, and we dived in because we felt sorry for the Frogs.

It would've happened anyway, World War One was -practically- avoidable, due to the build up of attitudes, and many people predicted it.

Antisemitism was massive in Europe in the 19th century/early 20th (A famous British Prime Minister Disraeli practically had do abandon his religion because it was so unpopular) Russia had the Pale Settlement ( I think it was called? ) Where the Jews were segregated into, so realistically, no, they didn't start WW1.

A reason why 'Jews' are blamed for the failure of WW1 is because there were a lot Jewish Generals in the German army, (Which wasn't as common in the Allied forces.) So you blame the thing they all have in common.

I'm on my phone so can't be bothered to get more info, but ww1 ended partly because Germany could not afford to go on. They had massive pride so this was a kick in the balls. Before ww2 you had the current system which people disliked, then communism which they did not want.

Hitler and the nazis were probably the most appealing alternative. They played on the reason for ww1 ending and said it was because of the Jews. Bam he just started to turn people against the current government and also the Jews. He then made promises about making them strong again.
