Use to have a laugh on my theurg... could stand in the middle of duelling area and not get attacked by people. Went there to waste time, watch fights while chatting to friends.

Then more random people came along to "duel" and started to zerg me when i was watching

This switched soon to me returning after buffing and killing them even if they in fight. Didnt see why i should let them get on with it when they had the zerg mentality a moment before.

This led to the people that used to let me stand there also attacking/adding on me in numbers.

Finally ended with me ruining every fight i could in that area. Was funny at times though. 5-6 different fights in a small area and i stick a ton of pets to interfer in each of them.

What did their starting to attack me achieve? Well it achieved them having many fights ruined (Fuck me over once and i will fuck you over a half dozen times). Gave me satisfaction for getting revenge. And gave my friends a laugh at hearing me bitch then take piss out of the people i was screwing over.

Did it give the people in the zone what they wanted? 1vs1 fights. Nope. Just gave them another caster that would happily ruin there fights for the next 30minutes till i got bored with the easy rp.


Basically. People that claim to like 1vs1 only like them if they think they got the upper hand. When it takes some effort they complain. But to be honest unless you a poorly played hybrid you got a chance of beating any caster, even a moc3 lifetapper.

Light tank = Charge/Purge/IP/stun
heavy tank = Purge/IP/Stun/High HP and Class Resists.
Hybrids = Insta interupts/Purge/IP(somecases)/charge (some cases)/stun

All the above can use runthrough to get around moc. (Takes some skill

Most the above has access to a stun to get around moc (ofc purge may be on casteR)

All the above got ways around casters Crowd control

All the above got access to range interupts (charges on artis etc).

WHy dont they like taking on a caster?
1) Takes more effort then standing still spamming style+backup style.
2) They may actually have to use an extra ability to win a fight.
3) They actually are zerging twats themself on their caster so they treat all the same way.

1) Not all can afford slam but there alternative methods of stunning. Going that far can say not all casters can afford Crowd control or High damage spells (ie a earth theurg cant get good nukes or reliable stun )

Arguements work both ways. As a caster there was a massive amount of stealthers that i would KOS. For awhile you were one of them. Why? Because you can be having a 1vs1 against another CASTER or 1vs2+ and you would get PA'd etc. So a fight in which there wasnt a "it was unfair because they a melee you a caster" or "caster vs tank 1 on 1 dont count" you still get it ruined by a hypocrit.

Every class has a HUGE playerbase that ruins fights for the other classes. Stealthers/melee have large numbers that ruin it for casters. Casters have large numbers that ruin it for melee/stealthers. And i wouldnt get into an arguement about which player base is worse because ratio of ClassPopulation:Addsoesn't add seems even for both sides (this is having looked at it from every PoV unlike many)

Basically i was in your KoS .. cause u were in mine first. And dont try to put melee classes and casters in the same fate/comparison...it wont work. (cause basically u cant have a fight vs another char, even if caster, that can compare to a fight between 2 melee chars)

See, and here the problem that face. You present opinion as fact.
In YOUR opinion you cant have caster fight that compares to 2 melee characters. Whereas in my opinion on the rare occasion you can. State why you think that not a single caster fight can compare?

Personally i agree 1vs1 caster fight often is down to getting the jump. However decent casters can get out off being jumped by another caster etc and turn the tide withotu using RA's. Have less time to react in this case as well because you know that 3nukes and you are dead.

Me personally. Had many better fights with my theurg then with my merc/tic/stealthers.
Not talking 1vs1 as i know my theurg should rip most people apart (other then a stealther that PA/CD or a stun nuker getting the jump or a warlock! when ra's down )

The better fights werent 1vs1. They not a test of skill on caster or melee. Either the odds on your side or not. Didnt find my merc a test at all when played him. Even when beat 2+ people who attack me it is not a challenge as it just run up to them and use the same set of styles every time.

Caster vs multiple people. That i found enjoyable and testing. It takes good positioning, good awareness of environment, good awareness of which classes up against and how best to deal with them so you have full victory and not just kill 1 or 2 out the 4+. Often they were the fights that i enjoyed the most. I have kited a group of 7 random hibs (maybe not a group but they were in same area) on a 11minute fight across Emain and ended up killing them all.

Found that more enjoyable then 3 enemy. Ok. AoE DT. amy/ds, parry stun chain, amy/ds, purge, IP, DT etc etc. Yes beat the enemy but it mainly standing on the same spot, odd strafe to position and some backing up to stop their strafing.

Ok sorry, Dave J will say im talking bullshit now so i will stop at this point. But could give reasons why my opinion differs to yours all day long about that quoted section of your reply

DC is a crap place to solo, way way to many adders and rangers camping every guard and bridge, I stopped bothering with it long ago. HW or odins is best bet.

Well... reaver got more then 2 lifetaps. He actually got 3 if he is RR5 now that the 2 in SR have seperate timers. So mixed with banelord etc im sure you would have found that as reason for them to be overpowered. That and levi etc.

And armsman have the best armour in game so no doubt you calssed that as overpowered compared to other melee toons whom do not (guess can put pally into this as well )

That is , theoretically - impossible. Fancy dueling my reaver who's slash, i'll knock you to 45% in 2 hits and thats without slam or levi.

I used to see Pin+Justin take out 2 Fg's alone, take keeps on their own, you dont see that now, they really have, calling a greek (no offence) shitnoob 'decent' is laughtable in it's own right, the level of skill in this game really has gone down, people assocociate skill with RR, you only have to group with people like Lookdaddy in respect to the reaver class to see this is a factor that isnt backed by fact, and I pity the people still playing the game the way it was played 3 - 4 years ago, respect was something different then talivar and zoia made this something that stood out, todays daoc is about something totally different.
