We decided on 1st July, the transfer windows are open until the end of August which is weeks into the season. Not sure how long the U21 has to run but regardless 1st July seems sensible for a year in which there are no major tournaments.

Day too late IMO. First games of the season are 30th June, Europa League first round qualifying first leg is then, and Fulham will be playing then
