However, 56% said they supported the use of VAR to determine offsides in the buildup to goals and more than 60% thought it should check for possible fouls.

lol :)

91% of fans believe football is better off without VAR

But as per your quote @Embattle, if they must have what 91% think is shit, a bit more than half thought we might use it for "some stuff".

They could always adopt something like the NFL rules, where every scoring play is reviewed automatically, going back 30 seconds before the goal, and the refs should hold the whistle unless a clear foul has been committed. It might mean more goals overturned, but should also cut down on the second guessing the ref that seems to be happening. Could also give each coach 3 VAR challenges per game, so if they're unhappy with a referee call, they can use a challenge.

Or they could just do what 91% of fans think - scrap it and go back to referees and a human game, with human falibility and all the gloriousness that existed before this fucking awful system got hold.

But hey. Future advertising dollar talks - and dollar is what "the game" is now all about.

You've been warning us all about VAR being a vehicle for "future advertising dollar" for several years and... still waiting...

Oh in blighty it'll be a generational thing. 91% of people fucking hate it - so imagine the backlash with ads.

But tell me: what other product would put up with a 91% customer dissatisfaction rate?

Regardless of my add angle - 91% of fans think football was better before VAR.

This is why I am watching the Baller League, no VAR in sight and the games are really great :p

You shouldn't lie, it is because, like me, you support Chelsea.
Ok I will come clean. I did stumble across the Baller League whilst channel hopping the other day, how on earth they can make a competition out of Junior school five-a-side football is beyond me.

Wondering if my TV has been hacked, currently watching MCI vs Lollerpool and at 57 minutes it is 4-0. Might have to ring Sky to run some diagnostic tests.

Had to rewind my Sky box, commentator said Spurs have not won any of their last 13 games, wtf? Good.

Then just a moment ago lucky deflection and Spurs are 1-nil down. Even better news. Now back to supporting Sunderland.

We played OK in the second half. But they're clinical in the way we used to be...

Cobblers to be relegated tonight. Abysmal. The state of the squad, and the clubs finances, I don't expect an immediate promotion.

Norwich manager Philippe Clement said there are "moments where I miss VAR to get the right decisions" after his side conceded a penalty against Ipswich earlier this month.

Former Bristol City manager Gerhard Struber said in January there are "many signs, evaluations that with VAR the decisions are better and more fair".

You hang onto that @caLLous - the Championship voted to fuck it off.

Doesn't have to be unanimous. I mean - the vast majority of fans have been shown to hate VAR - with solid evidence. But you still love it. Doesn't mean they're all wrong. Just that you're weird ;)

The Championship voted to fuck off a Temu version of VAR - basically a bloke in the stadium who can play replays for the ref at the side of the pitch.

I don't love VAR, I don't remember ever saying that I do.
