Just read an article about the number of days between matches for December & January - Liverpool have the fewest number of days (2.9) in all of europe's top 4 leagues.

Next nearest is City with 3.3, Tottenham with 3.6 and Arsenal, Chelski and Utd with a luxurious 4.1.

Two point nine. That's not enough to recover properly. Explains the hamstrings.

True - but I don't know how it can be organised to be less than 3.

It's that less than minimum 3 that I find just nuts. The FA and UEFA know that 3 days is a minimum reasonable recovery time (leaving none for training) and that injuries rack up if players don't get it.

That's putting too much pressure on the players. Now, don't get me wrong, my heart doesn't bleed for someone who's on 50 grand a week - but that's surely almost foul of health and safety law. Yep, you put your body on the line as a footballer, but not unreasonably so.

Not whining about lollerpool specifically here - any players being asked to do that level of work are being put under too much strain.


But yeah. Meh. 50k p/w...
