Well done Vardy, I also don't believe any one was saying he was crap but it just seemed some people were making him out to be Messi or something.

I don't even know how you would stop this.
Amazing goal, but if you can't get the ball you should get the man. Their right back should have made a small obstruction on Messi's run into the box and he wouldn't even have been booked. But on the other hand, the passes are so quick and their machine is so well oiled that they can make any defence look like fools

As goes for Vardy.. Hot streak or not, he does seem to have class on the field. Certainly has a nose for goal. But should he be starting for England? Ahead of the captain who has loads of international experience and has scored in nine of the ten qualification matches?

As for the record, I think it is a shame that Ruud doesn't hold it anymore. He was one of my all time favourite players.

Experience or not, Rooney really does look off his game at the moment, surely you'd go with the guy whose got a bit of fire in his belly and has already proved he can score against some of the best?

Rooney is a bag of shit against a decent defence. He basically needs 5 yards of space.

Aldo's record you mean. Football didn't begin with the premier league.

The record for scoring in consecutive Premier League matches began with the Premier League...

I don't care that Rooney scored loads of goals in qualifying. We had a shit group, and he's done fuck all in tournaments.

We should be picking on form during the friendlies and seeing if these guys can handle the step up. Rather have someone in formal with something to prove than someone who thinks they are guaranteed a spot regardless.

I can Imagine Vardy causing teams a lot of problems with his effort and pace. And he certainly looks like he has the confidence to take a chance when given it. He's been under fierce pressure for 4 games now to keep the run going and he just keeps taking his chances with absolute confiding his own ability.

There's just something about watching top flight football where I'm thinking these guys are playing like they deserve it automatically, and I think Leicesters passion and energy has just completely suprised them.

Dunno, I guess being fresh to the job means its excitable but once you turn into Rooney and you do what is just expected of you... Meh.

I suppose thats acceptable at club level if you get the results which are expected of you, but its not acceptable at international level.

Gotta start somewhere
Doesn't have to be 1993 though. What a stupid arbitrary start point.

Football in the UK has a rich history. Nearly all the other records mean "top flight". The "formation of the Premier League" was just a branding and marketing exercise of that top flight to make it more saleable. It's retarded to discard 85% of football history when we've got 100 years of detailed statistics on top of that.

We'd already "started somewhere" - and most stats still use that starting point...

Whilst we're on the subject of being complete pedantic cunts - It didn't begin in the 80's either. Someone from the 20's scored in 12 consecutive top flight games.

I think they should get the records to go back to the middle ages.
