What a clusterfuck. There goes about 2 seasons of domestic football around the world.

It will hurt the premier league - no way summer tv rights are worth what the winter ones are - lots of people away on hols or out enjoying the weather.

I could see sky insisting on more evening games and games over more days of the week.

Sepp Blatter knew this shit before they signed the deal. He has publicly stated that the leagues have years to organise a schedule around it.

Qatar basically lied in their bid with promises of air conditioned stadiums. A year later they came out with the truth saying it was not feasible. So playing in 45-50 deg C in July/Aug is not an option - Winter is all that can be done. Either that or they should give it to UK but then Sepp and co at FIFA would have to give the money they took back from Qatar. F@#king bunch of twisted arseholes that should have been kicked out of FIFA years ago. The most corrupt sporting organisation on the planet. One possible exception being the Indian 20-20 Cricket :)

I think the stadia are still going to be air-conditioned, the problem was the training grounds and what to do with all the supporters in a middle-eastern summer, which was pointed out at the time they won the bid. Interestingly, in the article I linked to there it seems Blatter certainly doesn't think a Winter WC is a done deal, and would expect the losing bid countries to mount a legal challenge.

Trying to find the articles I read back last year - Stadium designer saying it was not even feasible. Cracks me up these stories today. Talking about temps up to 41 deg C. Yeah a bloody midnight maybe! Try 45 + in July/Aug. Anyway work is that the whole thing could get cancelled. Could move to UK who were second in the bid process also the only country according top FIFA that "could host it tomorrow".

Sepp Blatter blaming others for the decision - what a complete and utter wanker!

John Barrow from the company Populus that is designing the stadium said it was not feasible. Qatar Authorities retorted that they were working with others on the solution.

Quite frankly moving it away from Qatar would be the only sensible option but then certain things would need handing back to the Qatar world cup group.

Spuds have confirmed that more than one club has bid for bale. Also spurs rumored to have moved for Mata.

I have read that Arsenal have 3 players one of which is a "superstar" at the final agreement stage but all three depend on qualification to the Champions League. If it is true Wednesday could make a few Arsenal fans smile. Me included as one of them is meant to be Fellani.

United are meant to be front runners for Bale at the moment with Chicorito (sp?) being part of the deal.

There is also talk of Arsenal getting Cesc on a season Long loan again as he does not want to leave Barce but he is surplus to requirements this season.

I hope he does because then Maureens unnecessary purchase of Willian will have caused two clubs around Chelsea to strengthen :)

Haha this is all mental. No way Chelsea will sell anyone to us I don't think. Earlier I heard a rumour of Rooney + £60m for Bale. We could then gift Rooney to Chelsea for Mata and Willian. :D

Could go any one of about 15 directions, it's brilliant.

Man Utd v Chelsea will be an interesting game tonight - any major players missing? I'm wondering which to bet on :p

Looks quite a negative team choice on Chelsea's part - low scoring game I'd guess.
