I don't know why Mourinho has got such a hard-on for Rooney but it would seem like you're shipping off Mata and some pounds in exchange for him (utter madness on your part even if Mourinho does have a problem with him for whatever reason) so this was to get a Mata-replacement in place. I also saw that RM are going to keep trying until they succeed re: Suarez. There is a club that doesn't know how to be subtle.
