Yeah I was kinda hoping we could get RM to help out with the Willian situation but it looks a bit late for that. Lamela and Pjanic would work but I'm fucking sure Roma won't want to lose Pjanic as well, their fans would go apeshit!

Holding onto Bale and getting Lamela would be fucking sweet though. :)

Also reports that Chiriches is back on, after his club's incarcerated owner gave the nod.

Not too bothered about Willian - lamela is the key one remaining.

Holding onto Bale and getting Lamela (and not bottling it again) would make Spurs serious contenders imo. My bet is looking better with each transfer story!

Disagree. Lamela *and* Willian would've completed us as a team. Willian is absolutely 100% the playmaker we needed. Maybe with Chiriches or Coentrao in defense.

We're still strong, we've still made 4 excellent signings with things looking good for Lamela and potentially Pjanic. I think the Bale train is now going too fast to stop, maybe we can hold them off for a few days but they're already putting a huge stage thing up in the Bernabéu and Spanish media says he's being unveiled tomorrow.

I honestly think Bale was all done and dusted before your shopping spree started but part of the deal was delaying until xx date to give you a chance to replace him.

Fixed. But I'm with you :)

I agree - as soon as they started the spree he was going - Levy does not run the club as a game - he expects it to make a profit.

Yeah, I had this discussion with my old man earlier today. I'm sure the Bale deal was agreed around the same time we signed Paulinho and started to be linked with Soldado. If it ever is proven to be true it's a fucking brilliant move by Levy to stop people jacking up the prices once they knew we had a load of transfer cash to spend.

That being said I'd still love us to bring in another CB (why we sold Caulker I'll never know) LB (not 100% convinced on Danny Rose defensively (not even 50%)) and hopefully Lamela.

But then I also hate getting any form of hopes up as Ive spent 30 odd years having them pissed on at the end of the season

Yeah, it's that stupid "optimism" I was talking about a few pages back.

Even now, Willian hasn't decided and Roma's coach is reportedly trying to block a Lamela move.

If something was agreed weeks ago then yes, it's a masterstroke from Levy but it kind of screws us if we a) can't cancel it and b) can't get decent replacements before he goes. I don't know if a line could've been added at the time that we'd only release him when we had suitable replacements signed?

We have to wait until Monday for an announcement re: Lamela but apparently we're not releasing Bale until it's done so that's a bit more reassuring.

There (apparently) seems to be a bit of a ding-dong brewing between Chelsea and Spurs though, I wonder if everything was entirely above board.

We've (sigh, apparently) had a £7m bid accepted for Chiriches. Awesome.

Monday or Tuesday medical and announcement for Lamela, €30m + €5m addons. I hope we fucking made him sign something before this leaked out all over the place.

And there's a rumour going around that AVB has taken Willian out for a meal to try to change his mind. That's epic on so many levels if there's even a grain of truth to it. At the very least this is now entertaining.

I agree with Moyes on some of that. If Everton released the bid to the press then they are doing nothing but tapping up their own players to try and make Utd look silly. But at the end of the day they are transfer negotiations. You make a low bid and either get told "that is not enough offer more" at which point to bid again. Or you get told "the player is not for sale at any price" then you should honor that and go away. Clubs should all honor this and stop all this leaking to the press bull shit. Both clubs want the best possible deal for the buyer that's low and the seller its high the negotiating part should see them meet in the middle.

Oh Moyes, what are you doing...

In other Everton news, looks like the new crest used this season (Which got a lot of flak also) is going to be replaced from next season, this time the club is asking fans about the options than keeping it under wraps - http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/2013/08/22/club-crest-announcement

Have you actually read the article you are criticising Moyes for? He makes very clear points and goes on to expand on what he's said, don't be a headline grabber.

Log in to sky bet to place my weekly bets

see balance is £222

Forgot I put £2 on the Chelsea villa game, Benteke to score first, Chelsea to win 2.1.

That will do nicely. £5 in this season, £222 out...trying to beat last season which was about £40 in £450odd out.

Odd, sky sports don't seem to count own goals as scored first.
