I'm watching the Derby Blackburn game anyway, that Will Hughes kid looks incredible.

Mostly down to Dempsey being in a lot of NBC's promotional stuff. Oops. :)

Same with Caulker tbh. It was him that instigated the move because he was unhappy being 3rd or 4th choice but he will be a cracking player in no time at all, I would've liked to see him get some proper match-time this season.

Caulker was more of a surprise - Dempsey never reached the greatness with us that he did at Fulham. I remember being pretty excited when he signed (not Paulinho excited or Soldado excited) but he never really shone with us.

Spurs backline doesn't look so strong anymore, any injuries and they'll suffer, and their defenders seem quite injury prone.

Yep. He's not less than half the player Bale is. And the "incidents" don't matter as long as he's banging in the goals.
When the incidents involve long bans it does matter :p

That's just not true. If he stays he misses your first six games. If you refuse to let him leave he could bite someone in his fist game back and get a 15-20 game ban. So the incidents do have to take a toll on his value. If RM get him it will be a sub £30m offer and he will be refusing to play for you.

I wouldn't put refusal to play past him tbh.

Vertonghen was a victim of playing in shit weather on a shit pitch, he played 33 league games last season so he's normally robust. Once Dawson comes back, that's our two centre-backs sorted. Then we've got Walker, Kaboul (when fit), BAE, Naughton and Rose. I think we'll be ok but injuries could indeed fuck us about a bit back there...

Has the Soldado deal not gone through yet? Want to stick him in my FF team.

Soldado's medical was on Friday. Some funny Gooners started a rumour that he had failed but some boy bumped into him in Kensington earlier and he told him that he was a Spurs player. That's right, we get our info from 14 year olds now (more reliable than a lot of the rubbish we read in the press tbfh).

Looks like Mourinho gets his Madrid reunion early as we play them in the final of the super prestigious International Champion's Cup!

Not really we are a patient bunch.

I am glad we lost the emirates cup as if we won that the news today would be abound Wenger saying he does not need new players.

You do come across as a Spuds fan you are so doom and gloom :).

They are two players who will not cause a problem by going away on loan. They had 20 appearance between them and collectively did fuck all. If we just keep two of the youth/reserve strikers in the first team rather than loaning them out we will be fine.

Getting rid of shit like these two is what we need. The only downside here is that they are only loan deals.

I actually quite like Arsenal and I think that football would be much better if more teams operated like they do but Wenger just frustrates the crap out of me. He has to do something, he can't just ship players out without replacing them. Arsenal really struggled at times last season due to such a small squad, how many have they offloaded now? 6? 8? replaced with a kid from France.

Arsenal's problem has long been the wage bill and Wenger offering kids much more than they are worth. And the way we seem to offer these duds 6 year contracts and we get stuck with a squad player who is utter shite and ends up on a subsidized loan. None of the players that have left were first team regulars or even first team squad regulars. Most of them were either on loan all year or in the reserves.

I do not see this as weakening us at all. And to be honest there is no point in having 5 players for every position if they are shit. I would much rather have a small squad but with quality cover for every position. We are culling the shite from our books. All we need now is Wenger to spend some fucking money. But he will not be rushed

I want to go to London and watch a Liverpool game this season (I want to watch a Liverpool game and the wife wants to go to London :p).
Any tips and pointers about where to buy tickets/where to live/etc for a livegame nub? http://www.livefootballtickets.com any good?

Most prem clubs sell their own tickets afaik. Depending on the team you might get lucky and get tickets. Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal might be sold out to season ticket holders/members though.

Works differently for different clubs, for Chelsea for example it's almost impossible to get general sale tickets for anything other than shit games and so you need to be a member (£25/year) for which you get £5 off any ticket you buy, essentially paying itself back so long as you go to more than 5 games. Away tickets are usually season ticket holders first priority, then members, then general sale - so you may be hard pressed to get seats in the away end.

You could always take a trip up to Manchester and watch them play Shitty. Nobody watches them so you can always get tickets.

The problem is arsenal need to clear their wage bill of shite. This is necessary as long add they replace with youth or quality.

Yep I think a lot of the shit that is being shipped out will be replaced with kids who were out on loan last year.

And most of them did not even play last year and were loaned out anyway so I don't see them as important.
