If these rumours of £85m for Bale are true, Spurs would be absolutely fucking nuts to turn that down.

I agree - I would rip their hands off for that money as a Spurs supporter - some of it would pay for other acquisitions we already made this summer - a chunk for another really great player and bank the rest.

I think its probably crap tho - only two parties really know and they aren't speaking so everything we have is guesses.

You already have Chadli so it's 35m for a striker and 50m to put towards a new a ground.

Sell, SELL, SELL.

Seriously who the fuck would turn down that money, I preferred the rumour involving Di Maria and Coentrao though. I'm still sweating on Soldado as well. We cannot start another season with Defoe and Adebeyor as our only striking options...... Can we..... :(

No.

Bale scored more than Defoe and Ade put together last season which says how good a season he had but also how inconsistent (and injured) our front two were.

So, *if* we can grab Soldado and *if* we can keep hold of Bale... fuck me, bring on the football.

Spurs without Bale would not even be challenging for the 6th spot. With the money now coming in it would be saving a penny on the short term but loosing a pound in the long run.
Until they improve the rest of the team I wouldnt let go of him, and that is not from a spurs fan.

They have improved the squad...if they can get Soldado they will have a very good squad indeed, with 85 mil to spend I am sure they could more than cope with losing Bale. No team in the prem is a 1 player team.

Bale, who lets not forget was written off by half the posters in here at the start of last season!

Reina says he was kicked out.

Spuds are always bigged up right before a season and nearly always bottle it. They have spent a lot recently and always cop less shit for doing fuck all than us and that is what pisses me off. And I still think Bale is a bit over hyped he is a great player but part of the reason Ronaldo is worth £80m is shirt sales and CR7 as a brand Bale looks like the missing link he is not the brand Ronaldo is. Anything over £60m they should take he could get Shawcrossed two weeks into the season and no way the insurance pays £80m

Which aspect of the team needs improving? We have one of the best goalies in the league, our defense is rock 'ard (Walker, Vertonghen, Dawson, Kaboul... the jury is still out on BAE but I think he's ace). Nothing wrong in midfield (Paulinho, Sandro, Dembele, Chadli...), one or two (if Bale goes) new bodies needed up front and we're looking a *lot* stronger than we were last season without a ball having been kicked. We could fuck Ade and Defoe off and have a 4-3-3 with Lennon, Bale and Soldado (getting ahead of myself slightly).

Nah - he's not as good as Ronaldo was when he was in the premiership and he can be marked out of a game by a prepared team. Spurs would motor on quite happily with the cash.

I'm turning a bit Spursey lately but I still refuse to support a team that isn't local!

I heard today that until Wenger signs a new contract he has no money to spend. The club do not want to let him spend £100m this summer only for him to leave and then find the new manager dose not want half the players and wants to spend £100m himself.

If that's the case, he is fucking that club so hard. Lose, lose situation.

I agree. It seems some blogs are saying the club commenting on how much we can spend on player and on wages is all to add pressure to Wenger. They either want him to commit and spend or get out of the way according to some. It is mental to think this could all be a way to get the fans behind Wenger being pushed out.

You know he'll be holding out for the 85.25m on deadline day.

Sorry but Bale isn't worth more than Ronaldo :p worlds gone mad. Spurs should take it, but I think they'll get more, as Real want him bad.

Can't see him and Ronaldo in the same team either.

I don't think he's worth more than Ronaldo either, I'd put him somewhere around Neymar's value tops. But, something is worth as much as the buyer is willing to pay so whatever. :)
