If he lives up to his potential he could be an incredible signing for £10m. He'd probably be seen as a long term successor to Gerrard in that he's a pretty much complete midfielder, different to Gerrard in that he doesn't score as many goals but he's got more trickery to him, can dribble well and doesn't give the ball away a lot. He doesn't have Gerrard's penchant for spraying useless 50 yard balls all over the field (and missing 75% of the time).

If that was true I wouldn't want Gerrard playing for us. But he hits about 80% of the time and was crucial last season in alleviating pressure and turning an attack on us into an attack on our opponents...

I am interested in studying Fabregas' situation. I think he is anxious to leave Barcelona and motivated to return to England. I think that is clear. Whether he is going to sign for Chelsea or for another club, that is not a a subject to be discussed today, tomorrow or before the World Cup.

Thing is, if that was his attitude - wanting to leave just because of competition for a starting spot - I'd be quite happy for him to go. I think he's a cracking finisher, but he seems a bit mentally suspect, going missing when things don't go his way, wanting to run off on loan just because he'd have to fight for his place, the outbursts earlier in the season, etc. Hopefully he'll stay and fight with Costa and Torres/Ba for his place, we'll see though.

Johnson and Welbeckare both playing like utter shit. Wilshere and Barkley are both looking good so far but there is zero link up between them and Sturridge / Lallana is non existant.

Sooooo many times a ball is given out wide and 1-3 players make a move/run into the box and johnson/baines/sturridge all wanna take an extra touch or slow play down.....just get it in the box ffs you have 2 strikers and about 3 midfielders around the box.
