Garth Crooks has Gibbs in his team of the week for his performance against City. He has to be smoking crack. He can't possibly have watched the first half. I like Gibbs but his defending was awful.

"Did you know? Gibbs made seven passes to team-mate Thomas Vermaelen against Man City, his favourite target in the game."

Is this cunt for real? He probably gets paid a few of grand a week to come up with this shit.

The BBC really needs to clear some of these idiots out. It's a complete waste of license payers money. Shearer, Lineker and Hanson probably cost at least £1m a year and they are the genuinely least interesting people on TV.

Jumping on the speculation bandwagon - I could see this as a reasonably realistic possibility top 4:

1. Lollerpool.
2. Shitty.
3. Chelski.
4. Everton.

Would be great to see Everton in there. They're getting some great results under Martinez. But it's just blind hope I guess...

Jesus, a scouse renaissance. It will be like the 80s all over again. The 80s sucked balls. :(

I think Arsenal will beat Everton, because we have too. And after them we have the easiest run in of the top 5 I believe so I think we will still get Top 4. We have dropped so much because we have had a fuck off tough run of games.

Yeah, I think you will too tbh. But I'd still like to see Everton do it because it's a well-run club with very few resources.

Our run in is tricky - City & Chelski at home with west ham, palace and norwich away and newcastle at home. I think we'd have to win them all to win the league, but I can't see it.

And it's still City's to throw away, if they win their two games in hand they're 2 points clear.

True. But for the first time, one of them is against Liverpool - so if we win all our games then there's nothing they can do. If we restrict them to a draw and they'll be level on points (presuming all other things being equal) - and we've cut into their goal difference by some margin recently - considering we broke the premier league record for most wins of 4-0 or above in a single season yesterday.

:)

But still. Yeah. City :(

I have to say I'm warming to the idea of Liverpool winning it. It'll be nice to see them in the CL again, you guys can keep our spot warm until next season when we get our shit together. :)

City have marginally better goal difference.

Been cut into massively recently. If we keep free-scoring at the "lesser" clubs then it's conceivable that we could end up even on points with city and a better goal difference.

Which would be fine by me :)

We have to beat city!
If we hold them to a draw we also drop 2 points so unless they get held to a draw elsewhere they still win it.

Liverpool have to beat City and Chelsea. Win those two and they win the prem. 4 games left.

Chelsea should win all their remaining games (not including Liverpool)
City should win all their remaining games (not including Liverpool)

I said it earlier in the season but are Southampton "Doing a Portsmouth" ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26813363

Well the daughter I believe isn't as interested in propping up Southampton as much as her father, in reality it just means they are going to have to sell a couple of there key players.

Liverpool have to beat City and Chelsea. Win those two and they win the prem. 4 games left.

Chelsea should win all their remaining games (not including Liverpool)
City should win all their remaining games (not including Liverpool)

Which as I've said Liverpool stand a good chance against us, since we don't exactly have much of a strike force but against Man City it might be harder plus I get the feeling we are getting a bit leggy and the wheels might fall off a bit more towards the end of the season which I suspect Jose had a feeling would happen.

If you mean spending = success, but unsustainable spending = short lived success, yep :)

We have covered that before. Spending does not = success, otherwise teams like Villa would be successful (being one of the highest spenders) it is a combination of things.

But Southampton seem to be racking up the debt. 27mil transfer fees outstanding and 30mil training centre without any real way of paying them back, their TV revenue only just covered the wages let alone anything else this season.

I still think City will win it. We are playing very well atm but we have to win 6 more matches in a row (adding to the already 7-8).
Can't remember the last time I saw Liverpool put together such a winning streak.

Yeah I was talking about that with a mat yesterday. You'd have to win all the remaining games, which would end up being something like 14 on the trot. That's an awful lot of concentration. And I'm not being funny but...how many players on that Liverpool squad have been there before? They aren't exactly old hats at squeaky bum time of late.
