Still, Maureen is just pissed his team weren't good enough on the day to breakdown a shit team. Something you need to do if you have any hope of winning the prem.

Stated many times now need better strikers etc.

We broke down the shit team 39 times to get a shot away, it's just luck.

No it isn't its a total lack of anyone who can score against a well packed defence. Your midfielders score more than your strikers. With a packed box you need a proper striker, otherwise you have to resort to just hoofing the ball in the general direction of the goal 39 times in a game.

The script was written! Although in all fairness, West Ham's single shot would've went in if that were the case :p

So why are you whining about the way Chelsea won the CL? Can't have it both ways.

I don't think he's whining about how chelski won the CL - I think he's pointing out the hypocricy of a team that won the CL by utilising the same basic tactics as West Ham then complaining about West Ham.

Edit: And 9 shots on target? Thats rubbish tbfh.

No need to even discuss it with people who can't see the difference to getting insanely lucky (West Ham conceded THIRTY NINE SHOTS at their goal) and actually winning games. Sure, no fan in their right mind is going to say Chelsea played good football to win that CL but you must have the comprehension levels of a damp pair of underpants to not see the difference in tactics.

Have you noticed that the only people with proper comprehension skills all support Chelsea?

Chelsea have got Kurt Zouma from St. Etienne. Good signing that, he's a beast.

Frimpong has permanently moved to 23rd-in-the-Championship Barnsley. Injuries have really fucked him hard. :(

Liverpool are being linked with a lot of expensive signings for chod, as usual.

Need to make 4th otherwise it's all titsup - possibly for a generation IMO. The Champions League payouts change this year so anyone not in that top tier is going to take a massive kick to the balls - and we're the least able to survive that financial fallout of the current top 4 and utd.

Everton and Tottingham haven't a hope if they don't make it this season. It's going to be as fragmenting as the original premier league financial-stretching debacle has turned out.

No more Villa winning the league. Ever. And possibly nobody who finishes outside the top 4 this season (Utd excepted).

They need to introduce financial fair play rules that actually mean something and not just ignored. Transfer fees and wages get more retarded each season.

Well the true test comes soon on the FFP, including the look at the sponsorship deals of PSG and Man City.

That's the thing - they're not "the same basic tactics", which is what I was saying. Not that it matters, with 39 'attempts' not scoring a goal is absurd however you spin it.

It's called "parking the bus" - which is exactly what Chelski did.

And 9 attempts on target and no goal - but 30 attempts off target - smacks of desparate shooting in the face of being unable to break down a stubborn opponent.

You'd have to be pretty fucking retarded not to see the difference between playing a stronger team on the counter and trying to nick a goal, and parking the bus playing for a draw. One involves trying to find a way to win. The other is trying your hardest not to lose. There is a massive difference.

No, but I have noticed most of the bitter and twisted fans I know all support Villa. Mind you, if I dedicated my life to such a pointless team I'd probably be bitter too.

See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catenaccio as a starting point on how playing defensively can be tactically interesting (disclaimer: not saying interesting football to watch but interesting tactically for all the mouth breathers in this thread who are about to jump on this post). I have no problem with a team doing what they need to do to win - I find watching Barcelona's sideways passing boring f.ex - but ultimately my belief is that football is a game about winning. West Ham didn't try to win.

You need to go back to 19th century football if you only think it is about winning :)

And insults over a differing opinion, how very childish.

Do you seriously expect teams such as West Ham to be playing to win the premiership? Money is what drives football, teams that have none have no chance. All they can do is try to stay up. 40ish points.

I'm baffled by your ability to twist everything to mean whatever you want it to. Who is talking about winning the premiership? Madness.

A blocked shot - still on target but obviously doesn't count as 'on target' to a degree, every shot there was 4 west ham players diving infront of it.

Yeah, except Chelsea did just park the bus, until Barca fell apart, then they countered. A valid tactic against a one trick pony like Barca and I think that was the game plan from the start. West Ham knew Chelsea have wank forwards and have to exploit defensive mistakes to score so stopped that from happening.

The difference is that the Chelsea game was a knock out stage so a draw was no good, they had to win to progress. A draw was enough for West Ham. They could have all out attacked but then they would have been thumped 5.0 which does no relegation battle team any good.

Presumably by saying they should be playing to win against a top 4 team they would be trying to win every game, therefore trying to win the premiership...rather than playing to simply stay in it.

Let me guess, you started supporting Chelsea around the time a certain Russian got involved?

I like how the first reaction is to talk of Abramovich & how all Chelsea fans only supported from then like we sprung out of a hole in the ground.

Chelsea has run in the family so supported from 1990! I had that awful 1994 away kit, it's still in a box somewhere :)

Well for such a small area of London and no real history before the Abramovich era it has an awful lot of young fans :)

#justsayin'

My mum bought me a Liverpool shirt in the 80s, I "lost" it though.

Handy for someone who claims not to support a team to find it so easy to insult people for supporting a team. I'm 27, I've supported Chelsea since I've supported a football team. There's a reason for it that I have no interest in sharing.

As for your other post, I can hardly even find words for a response. You twist everything to the point that it has no meaning. Every time you respond you've made up some absurd new line of retort that has no root in the original dialogue and/or is a response to something you tell someone they've said when they actually haven't. I think I could go mad trying to understand what is going on in your brain.

Shots on target count as on target - blocked or not.

The other 30 shots were OFF target. I.E. Into the stands, wide of the bar, at the jeering hammers fans - basically not going towards the goal.

You'd have to be pretty fucking retarded not to see the difference between playing a stronger team on the counter and trying to nick a goal, and parking the bus playing for a draw. Fat Sam would have happily nicked a goal. From their single shot on target (a 100% ratio I may add!) ;)

The fact is, his players weren't up to it. You outclass West Ham more than Barca outclassed you.

However - you (both) parked the bus because to play Barca openly you'd have been raped. Just the same as West Ham playing openly against Abramovich's billions.

Just admit it. Don't cry about it. No shame in nicking a goal and a win against Barca.

Its not that hard. You said west ham should have played to win. Which is a retarded idea when you are as terrible as west ham, whose one and only goal this season is survival in the premiership. I know for a fan such as you winning is everything but for teams that don't have sugar daddies simply staying in the premiership is enough, the money generated by staying up is huge. Initially you thought I was whining about Chelsea or Maureen or something, hard to tell really, you aren't making a lot of sense.

but ultimately my belief is that football is a game about winning. West Ham didn't try to win.

Understand yet or do I need to get the crayons out?
