I am just watching the pre season games and there is a 16 year old playing called Zelalem and he has a great eye for a pass. I have not watched the full games so I have no idea how he has played over all but he has played some excellent through balls.

And an offer of anything near £50m and Spuds would be mad to turn it down. He is one tackle away from never playing again.

QPR have signed Karl 'Kyle' Henry. I bet Joey Barton loves that.

What I hear is that Real will make a better offer for Suarez with the cash from Higuains sale.

I really hope this Suarez bid is a load of bollocks to try and force RM into finalizing the Higuain deal. While he is proven premiership quality his baggage and the fact he started this summer by saying he wants to leave the country really leaves me thinking a deal for Suarez could bite us in the arse.

£1 over the clause, haha :p

I would feel pretty sick after signing Suarez for that much though.

I kinda hope he stays in England tbh, we're slowly losing our world class players and having even less of them here will just make it less attractive for others to come over.

With all these silly transfer fees and mad wages, I wonder if anyone is actually bothering with fair play rules?

Yeah, wages and transfer fees seems to have skyrocketed since the FFP started :p
Monaco being the most obvious choice of being banned from CL/EL, but it will never happen

Can Monaco even play in League 1 yet?

Think they got promotion to it this past season.

I like the most recent story of Papiss being caught betting in a Casino after he made so much noise about wearing a shirt with Wonga on it.

I know that, but the French authorities were saying they weren't allowed to take their place unless the players paid tax. I think Monaco were going to court about it.

Heh, slightly hypocritical (I used to work for that Casino he was spotted in - its about a 100 yards from St. James' Park), but then I'd have an ethical objection to Wonga irrespective of any religious beliefs.

Quite a big difference between betting with your own money and promoting a company like Wonga though I'd say (putting aside the religious aspect of it).

I personally like how the major news outlets are only reporting on it now, a photo emerged of him in there maybe half a week ago. He's constantly getting spotted in casinos anyway, the press and hysterical Newcastle fans will have a field day.

Unfortunately though, he's used the religious angle as his objection, and gambling is also (mostly) prohibited in the Koran; you're allowed to make bets with each other if you're competing (but only camel and horse racing) but not if you're a spectator. Interestingly an enlightened Imam could probably make an argument blackjack and poker are OK.

No doubting he's a silly boy, making himself a hypocrite so stupidly, but I can't help but want to back anyone that openly objects to scum like Wonga. :p

Normally I'd be with you eks, but it seems so blatant that he's doing it to simply engineer a move away from Newcastle, and not for moral reasons.

I think the french FA realised they'd lose in court so told Monaco if they pay 200m they'll let them off. However if the 75% tax laws go through, there will be some arguments I think.

PSG and Monaco's commercial deals have to be the biggest test for FFP.

I got the impression from the live text that he was a grumpy sod sat on the bench with his arms folded.

Some reports are that his agent will go after Liverpool for breach of contract as they both see the clause differently. He thinks it means he gets to discuss personal terms Liverpool think they just need to tell him a bid has been made. I would like to see how it is worded.

Seenm a pointless clause if Liverpool just have to tell him. Considering everyone knows when an official bid has been placed anyway :p

Liverpool should sell him and stick a cheeky 15 mil bid in for Torres.

So Higuian allegedly spotted at Rome's airport, arriving for a medical at Napoli.

Arsenal should have paid the £30m and gone for him, Suarez is too much of a risk as transfers go (not the player himself, the chances of landing him).
