Personally the England of recent times has been much better, even if the score line doesn't always show it.

Another great performance by Wilshere. I don't think there is a better complete young midfielder in the country. 18 months out and he is back better than ever.

Personally looking forward to wilshere and cleverly nailing down their spots in the middle of the park.

Lots of talk about Lambert being called up to replace the drop-out strikers, but he isn't the Saints player that deserves a chance most imo. Lallana can be the answer for England down that left hand side, Welbeck certainly is not it.

As much as he's been a legend for you, he's been way of the pace for at least 3 seasons now.

In other news, David Gold has leaked that the majority of PL clubs voted in favour of self imposed financial fair play restrictions at the league level.

Call me a cynic but I think the upshot of "financial fair play restrictions" will just be more creative accounting.

Sounds to me like the "old guard" of the PL trying to ensure they stay at the top of the table, and no one can do a City a propel a small, unsuccessful team to the top of the tree. It will mean those with massive grounds and followings will be at an advantage over those without.

Bit of a daft idea, but hey, Arsenal need to something to win a trophy I guess.

The midfielder, who has scored 15 times in 33 appearances for club and country this season, is six goals from breaking Bobby Tambling's record of 202 goals during the 1960s.

I'd keep him for another year atleast, also he's on about 94 england caps atm so it would be nice just too see him reach 100 next season if anything.
