Ah come on. No defender would clear the ball that damn low straight towards the opponent unless it was a miskick... and that clearly wasnt. It was a clear malicious act after the whistle had gone. Yes it could break a neck, yes that could mean the player dies if the spinal cord severed etc .. but it is a bit of an over the top statement...

however, actions like that have no place on a football field and he should get a ban for it but these kind of things get let go (ref will say he saw it and booked him so no action can be taken.)

Swansea did well to get the draw though... and guess chelsea fans be loving benitez and torres soon

That, the fact the whistle had gone and his claim he was kicking it in frustration, NOT a clearance, says to me that it was a wreckless act.

Clearance as in launching it, frustration falls under that. Wasn't aimed at RvP by any means.

At the end of the day the only person that can say if it was intentional will never admit it. I have to say I am inclined to believe him. He just meant to but his boot through the ball in frustration. Takes the yellow and buys his team time. I do not believe he meant to hit RVP but its still had potential to do a lot of damage.
