Nope, it's the same shit Ashley Young does all the time, he uses the refs angle against the player, stumbles and goes over with no contact or by throwing his leg into the defender to initiate contact. Too many of the fuckers doing it now and recently Bale has been at it numerous times in a single game. It has to stop, I am all for penalties when even light contact knocks a player off his stride but this is becoming obscene, players throwing themselves to the ground with zero contact.

Looks like Bale done a little tap dance click of the heels before going down, what an absolute bell hat.

Im really allergic against throwing yourself to the ground while kicking out to initiate contact with goalie/ref. Should have video refs after the game handing out suspensions :)

In the last 5 years, Stoke have a higher net spend than Man Utd, Liverpool, Tottenham etc. They're the 3rd biggest net spenders and have sunk in more than £120m more than Arsenal in that time.

Only Man City and Chelsea are worse with their finances in this regard.

Stoke dont spend it on players though, it's all the balls they have to replace after they're hoofed out the stadium

What a farce...

Henry has previously sought to dispel the "myth" that the size of the stadium is critical to Liverpool's financial prospects, stating: "A belief has grown that Liverpool FC must have a new stadium to compete with [Manchester] United, Arsenal and others.

"While a new stadium or an expansion of Anfield is beneficial over the long term for the club, the financial impact of adding seats and amenities should be put into perspective.

"That's why I say that it is a myth that stadium issues are going to magically transform LFC's fortunes.

Building new or refurbishing Anfield is going to lead to an increase from £40m of match-day revenue to perhaps £60-70m if you don't factor in debt service.

Calling bullshit on that, £20-30 million of extra gate revenue per year which you use to pay down the debts over the medium term (5-7 years) but then factor in any potential CL football and it only looks better. A bigger stadium is exactly what Liverpool need to keep growing and compete, increasing revenue by 15-20% overnight is no small thing but he is downplaying it bigtime. Why? That revenue will not be ploughed into the side, obviously.

You're quoting him out of context. The extra 20-30 million is the difference between Stanley Park and current (45K) Anfield capacity. If they can get Anfield up to 60K, it bridges a big part of that 20-30 million at much lower cost. Having said that, I'm quite surprised a 25% increase in Anfield capacity is doable; unlike OT they've not got much room to manoeuvre around there.

Despite being worse than a team of Seb Squillacis, our Sunday league team has now had articles written on them in:

1) The "Football Manager stole my life" book from Macintosh & Co.
2) At least one Portuguese website
3) At least one Brazilian website

THIS IS FUCKING MENTAL

Long story short, an old researcher put himself in as a fake player in the game with immense stats and potential. He became a cult name and we couldn't think of anything better to name our team. So they're kind of news reports saying "thought Tó Madeira was fake? Turns out they're real!"

That rings a bell, I definately had the first version, infact I might still have it in the attic at mums!

Cool. I actually have that version at home back in Ireland, was the first one I owned or played....needles to say I was rubbish. I remember a mate and I spent basically a whole summer back in secondary school playing that game. He was Barca and I was Real Madrid. He won every year for 10 years because every year I would get fired, make a new manager and start again with a new club. I ruined La Liga. I did finally find some semblance of success with Celta Vigo though!

I used to buy him and he was stupidly good. He was something like 5'10 and scored loads of headers.

Totally agree, he is without doubt the glue holding them together. Every game against United he dominates us, spectacular to watch as a neutral but depressing as a Red! :)
