The stronger teams have more attacks so will always generate more penalties and receive more free kicks etc. everyone dives, you adapt or get left behind. Gary Neville did a 15 minute talk on it using examples (even messi dives) of how not diving meant they never got the penalty they deserved.

I have an issue with your choice of language. It's not diving, diving is the simulation of a foul that did not occur to win a free kick. What Neville was talking about was "going down," which is when you HAVE been fouled but go to ground to signify it. It's a fucking disgrace that you have to go down to get free kicks, it's even more the case at lower levels where referees are utterly terrible. About 75% of EPL fouls would never be given at Sunday League level.

This precisely, it just isn't cricket, if you can continue to play even though someone has illegally tackled you, then you should, not quickly think if I go down, it's going to be a good shooting opportunity, the amount of times you see a little flick and they fly.
