Has basically been told 'go gracefully and we hit you a little bit, make it difficult for us and you are looking at a massive ban which will fuck Chelsea's title challenge'. He has finally fallen on his sword and rightly so, shame it took pressure to do it. If he had been honest from the start, admit he blew his lid and was heartbrokenly sorry I would have easily forgiven him mainly because of all those insane last ditch tackles he has made for England. I can forgive anyone when they are really sorry and own up to it quickly.

Out of position and prepared to injure himself to make up for the mistake, that is heroic. I don't like the bloke but he did some brave things in an England shirt and no one should forget them, even if he is a cunt.
