I'm pretty sure Dalgleish is telling Carroll to get into the box. However, he doesn't bother.

Illustrated perfectly when Suarez got himself free of a couple of the Cardiff defenders this weekend whilst Carroll just stood watching, just watching, on the edge of the 18 yard box, almost as if he wanted to see what Suarez could do.

No support. No run into the box. No making himself available. Lazy lazy bastard.

He's also not half as aggressive as he was for Newcastle. He gets bullied all over the pitch and whinges and moans about it.

I agree with you but its like the Torres situation, when your making the runs and the balls aint coming you stop making the runs. Liverpool need to play with 2 wingers and not just one who switches sides.

Liverpool need to build a football team based on football and not stats.

It will not bring them top success.

Played with Downing and Bellamy, Kuyt is handy at getting quality crosses in, Gerrard gets good balls in.

I don't give a fuck if he's feeling like he's not getting the balls - he's getting paid good money to make those runs, so if he isn't making them he's not doing his job properly.

Personally, if it wasn't for the effect on team morale I'd fine the fucker for not putting a proper shift in.

Bad signings aside, the football has been, for the most part, good, attacking and attractive to watch.

We dominate sides but aren't putting enough away. That's the signings, not the football.

As a neutral I can tell you that describing your football as "good, attacking and attractive to watch" is about the same as saying Wigan are a "tough side, hard to break down, with good attacking options."

In theory it's possible but in reality it doesn't occur. Your matches are hella dull unless they're against Man Utd or another big team...

I'm guessing A) you don't watch many 'pool games, and; B) not being a supporter, find us as dull as I do the 'arse (or most other teams that I don't support).

I really can't see myself watching Arsenal v Stoke. Arse v Tottingham bores the living shit out of me tbfh, regardless of how many goals there are :)

Lol, I don't watch much football?

Do you know me at all? :D

Arsenal v Stoke is never going to be a good game, because one team is playing football, the other some weird rugby hybrid.

And if you don't enjoy Arsenal v Spurs games there's something very, very wrong with you. We put on some of the best matches the Prem has ever seen. Would you really rather watch your godawful 0-0 draw with them, or the 5-2 from the weekend? Utterly batshit mental. :D

Well, I was stretching it with my "no matter how many goals there are" bit :)

However - I don't give a shit about arsenal or spurs, so I've not a lot of emotional investment in their games. They may be a nice distraction, but that's what they are - a nice distraction. I care about England about as much as I do arsenal - spurs - i.e. I'll make an effort to watch 'em, as long as I've nothing better to do...

If you can't appreciate a game of football like the most recent Arse vs. Spuds game then I find it very odd you'd call yourself a football fan at all tbh.

Id watch any arsenal game over a liverpool game, with the exception of a few elite opponents. Liverpool are one of the most boring teams to watch in the league.

I think there is a difference between a "Football fan" and an "Arsenal fan" I will go out of my way to watch an Arsenal game, but I will not make any extra effort to watch another team. Where as my Dad will watch Swedish 3rd division football if its on.

Never said I couldn't appreciate it. Read the post.

Just said there's things I could do that are more fun, so if it's not my team and one of those carrots is dangling, then I'll choose the carrot...

On the other hand if you need a defenceless slugfest to enjoy football instead of a tactical masterpiece 0-0 you can't really call yourself a football fan either ;)
There are many sides to enjoy in football.

Yeah I thought Gibbs was your best player tonight tbh.
Rosicky got my vote, best game from him all season. Song was a close second, playing the deep defensive role and was a rock! Amazing the difference when Walcott came inside in the second half. Very happy that he finally scored and hopefully his confidence is now improved and he start to take on chances to break and shoot rather than turn and wait for the pass.

There's also a difference between a masterclass in defence and just playing destructive football to negate the opposition. The fact is fans of any club want their team to win, and theyd all rather watch a game where they came from a few goals down and won over a 0-0 draw with 0 chances created. We watch to be entertained to a certain degree. I will watch and football match on tv. And some of the lower division football is excellent to watch as a neutral.

I dislike watching Liverpool because i hate watching poor Jordan henderson be played out of position. They lad has genuine talent in the middle of the park and I really feel he's stopped improving since he moved to Liverpool.

Yes, with masterclass defence is not everyone park the bus. But rather having a strong defense but still have an idea rather than trying to crowd the 6 yard box :)
Serie A of the old!

And I agree on Henderson, I think he will get some "lucas stick" when playing CM as well but he looks to be the kind of player that can come through it even better. I hope this RW shit stops next season. A 3 man midfield with Lucas/Henderson and a more forward Gerrard looks so much better than anything with Henderson on RW and Adam in the center :p

Liverpool are boring as fuck to watch, but it makes me happy watching how bad they are. Dalglish was not the answer to your problems, he's doing more harm than good.

Carroll was really shit on Sunday.. I had no idea what he was trying to do... he was always on the edge of the box for some reason, even when crosses were coming in..

But yeah Downing needs to float crosses more.. he seems to be drilling them at the moment which is useless for Carroll..

Who was loaned out as soon as Fergie realised he couldn't cut it. Why don't Liverpool do this with Carrol, Downing etc?
Why did it take 1 season to loan him out?

Downing and Carroll are both proven to be quite decent in the Prem.. so they won't be going anywhere :D

This has been a pretty decent season compared to the last two seasons for us.. we can still make 4th/5th and we have won a trophy which should give the players a boost to perform better in the Premiership!

Good temporary solution for a few months/season max.. but Gerrard really isn't going to be able to keep making these runs so often in 1/2 seasons.. we need someone to replace him in that position then put Gerrard in a more defensive midfield position alongside Lucas..

I don't understand why we bought Henderson, temporary solution imo and cause he's English..

You bought him, because he has a decent eye for a pass, a very good engine and hes young. The ideal lobg term replacement for Gerard apart from the fact Henderson isn't a cunt ;)
