Ronaldo's backheel goal was fucking ridiculous!
Messi scored a great free kick too

They are involved in the most ridiculous game of +1 ever.

Keitz, Walcott is utter utter shite. That 2nd half performance means he'll be un-droppable for the next 12 games and play like turd. He's a stupid stupid footballer, he did fuck all the first half. The entire section of Arsenal fans near the Spuds goal in the first half were constantly groaning whenever he got the ball or refused to run, or made the wrong run, or didn't support Sagna. He was fucking turd, he must have got a right bollocking at half time to change up that much.

His problem is he think he only has one speed and that is top end. If he learnt to use it more intelligently he wouldn't be tripping over himself like the Chelsea goal he scored, nor mis controlling his first goal against Spurs with the foot that was just meant to be moving him forward. He's just got no brain.

Disagree. He's just not a wide man. Needs to be running between DC and DL, rather than at the DL. Our formation means he has to play a lot wider than he should. For someone that isn't entirely suited to that role he has a very good return rate of goals and assists. Sure he can improve, but in terms of getting things done he's not bad to have.

I've never disputed his returns, but imagine them if he actually calmed himself down, he'd be a worldy. He just goes missing too much for me. Much like Aaron no clue Lennon who I'm sure will be in the England squad because hes fast!

Theo can't run with the ball at his feet. He makes up for that by being very very fast and IMO makes intelligent runs. If the ball is played into space for him he can be devastating. I wouldn't call him a stupid footballer.

Downing has carved a career for himself by the fact he is English and has a left foot. I am thinking those two factors alone give him a shout as a footballer despite his distinct lack of natural ability, skill or intelligence.

I know it is cool to hate Downing as he plays for 'pool and is not having a good season, he has also never played for any of the plastic four clubs. But he is a quality player, has a burst of pace and superb crossing ability.

Shame he's a cock who jumped the sinking ship before even the rats did.

I remember there being stats showing that he was the best (actual) winger last season for Aston Villa.... he isn't turd, he just hasn't hit pace this season yet. His best game by far was the Carling Cup Final, he was a lot better than he normally is.

Have a look at his stats last season. Shock, horror a player doesn't settle immediately into his new team.

WHAT?? He's english and has played in the premier league his whole career and he isn't 19 years old, I doubt they expected a settling in period for such an experienced player. And to have no returns so far on that hefty investment says it all.

If anything he should have improved this season when surrounded by better players.

Exactly, when the news came out that Liverpool signed him I said it was a fantastic signing for the club, as Downing crosses more than any other winger around atm. And I thought having Andy Carroll up top to feed would be a very good partnership. Unfortunately for both of them when Carroll starts Downing spends more time cutting in from the wing and trying to shoot than he does crossing the ball. And when he does cross it's more of a hopeful sling in to the box as opposed to a picked out pass.

I agree with this.

I think he's been inconsistent this season and yep, didn't expect a settling in period, but he's showing signs of improvement. However, why wang cross after cross in when the donkey Carroll doesn't show any appetite to get in the box or to attack crosses?

I think Carroll's lack of hunger and effort is partly the reason why Downing's been so ineffective.

Downing needs to show more improvement between now and the end of the season and then kick on from there next. Carroll needs a kick up his lazy geordie backside.

I think it's Daglishs fault!!!! He should be nailing Downing to cross the ball more, and screaming at Carroll to get on the end of them. Carroll has certainly uppsed his game the last month or so and is putting far more effort into his game, however the balls are still mostly mostly lumped up to him from the middle of the park for knockdowns which is all well and good for assists. But he's far more dangerous getting on the end of a quality ball in the box.
