As a person I think Suarez is a bit of a wanker. As a player? Only a fool would say he's anything but class.

Borussia Monchengladbach players faced an interesting puzzle this weekend, who to take a free kick? Problem solved:

He is very good yes but that record really isn't that impressive in that league is it..? he has a much more impressive Champions League record in the past year or so, I think anyway..

16 goals in 22 champion league appearances and probably over 10 assists.. that is such a better record than 19 goals in 20 games in that joke of a league.

I'm just disappointed that the two best players of this generation (Messi and Ronaldo) have not done shit for their nation... I can't really think of one player who has done very good at at least 2 major international competitions either actually..

It's always players who 99% people have never heard of at World Cup etc..

Give Ronaldo the european championships, I reckon it will be a break out year for him on the big stage, He's not on his own, him and Nani in his current form are frightening prospects for any team to come up against.

What about the original Ronaldo?

Neither Messi or Ronaldo are very old though, especially Messi. Beyond Pele I can't think of many players who've done much at international level at a young age.

They are both amazing, no doubt. But they did end 2nd in our group. Two players can't carry an entire team, just like Messi won't be able to carry Argentina to a WC. Had Maradonna not fucked up with his team during the last WC, I think they would have had a shot, but it seemed like he wanted everything to come from Messi and it just didn't happen.

I don't think anyone who watches football can really argue that C Ronaldo is anything other than a quality player, regardless of personal opinion of him or clubs he has played for previously.

Much the same as saying Suarez is crap, because he a) dives too much and b) denied Ghana an historic World Cup victory with some thoroughly unsportsmanlike behaviour. Doesnt mean he's crap, he's not, but there are sides to his game which tarnish his reputation to some

I find this a bit odd! Ok Ronaldo and Messi clearly are a level above Suarez, but this "dive reputation" he has gotten I simply don't understand. To me he is one of the few strikers who tries to stay on his feet at all time, this is from watching him in Liverpool and Urugay for 1.5 season.

Are people still that convinced that he dives more than any other player?

Yet individual brilliance wins you games!!! Especially in a knock out competition! Mark my Words Portugal will be challenging next year!

Nani is going to be a beast this time around, he has improved so much since the last Euro's. He could even have more of an impact than his more-talked-about team-mate.

Yup. Why he stays at United rather than moving to a club where he'll play every week is beyond me tbfh.

But then, he likes horse racing more than footie so...

Agreed.

Xabi Alonso used to be the most fouled player in the premier league. People used to kick the fuck out of him - also he had quick feet and could turn an attempt at an honest tackle into a foul if he wanted. Suarez doesn't do that - he just gets punted up and down the pitch. Defenders in particular like to go through him from behind (not that referee's seem to give a fuck).

Lots of players dive more. Ronaldo. Drogba. Gerrard, even (although he doesn't do it often he's so shit at diving it's laughably obvious).

Didn't realise there were such big games tonight...

Chelsea v Liverpool and Arsenal v Man City... no doubt Torres will be starting and will probably get a hattrick and all the papers will be calling it "revenge" or some bollocks.

I've got Preston, Arsenal and Chelsea to win tonight. £5 plus £10 free bet pays about 250 quid. Fingers crossed.

Fabiański; Eastmond, Squillaci, Koscielny, Miquel; Chamberlain, Frimpong, Coquelin, Benayoun; Park, Chamakh.
Pantilimon; Onuoha, Savic, K. Toure, Zabaleta; Johnson, de Jong, Nasri, Hargreaves, Kolarov; Dzeko.

Dzeko is going to score about 12 against that lot

Hope we pan 'em into the ground so much that Terry goes nuts and snorts a load of his personal stash in a pub and gets video'd doing it, then abramovich loses his rag and sacks AVB, chelski go into nose-dive, get relegated and abramovich's bell-end explodes from stress.

Or something :)
