i think the czech republic and turkey games will be tight. The teams in both ties are at a very similar level imo. Portugal and Ireland should win though.

You're forgetting that Ireland needed a very generous red card and an awful, awful own goal to beat Armenia. There's no way you can count them as through yet.

The thing is, Trappa is great at getting a relatively small nation like into a position like this because he runs such a tight ship....but when he actully has to win a game he seems to struggle (with Ireland atleast).

Far from cut and dry for us to get in unfortunatly :/

No Doyle for the first leg also. If Estonia get a draw I can see them taking you in Tailinn.

Lol!

Sweden that finished best 2'nd will be seeded higher than some group winners at the draw.
Also the extra two play off matches will also count, so that the teams that played these games and go through will likely also end up seeded higher than some group winners..this due to the fact that they only look at the Uefa ranking after the two play off games have been played before placing thee seedings.

/face palm!
Uefa & Fifa Idiocracy at it's best.

No, he won't play the next 3 competitive games. Which are the three Euro 2012 group games.

Bans do not include friendly games.

Meh, as far as I'm concerned if you pass back to your centre-back who has a half of pitch to himself you might as well restart counting.

Just watched the sending off, no way that deserves a 3 match ban, and especially not a 3 EC groupstage ban...geez..and I dont even like Rooney.

It's the wrath of Blatter, he'll never let the English FA off for trying to oust him.

I highly dout that.
But it likely does have something to do with Rooneys reputation, and him being high profile.

still though, a normal two match ban would have been in order. i dont see anything in the situation that warrents the extra day
however, he only has himself to blame, he should have kept his cool.

Rooney's ban was to be expected tbh, a red card for attacking another player carries a mandatory 3 match ban. The only room for play they had, is adjusting the penaly upwards...

Where does it carry a mandatory 3 match ban?

UEFA rules state a 1 match mandatory ban, and then the hearing to establish further punishment.

1 match for the card itself, 2 for violent conduct via panel. They may appeal and get it down to 2, but that'll be all. Also, if we don't take him then his ban doesn't count as being served because he isn't eligible for the matches. So either way he misses EC or WCQs.

Agree, nothing special with 5 minutes of sideways passing imo! I much prefer a more direct style.

No, they don't. As I and Wazz have stated already. UEFA only issues a 1 match automatic ban for a red.

He did deliberately kick him from behind, I've got no complaints.

He doesn't do this type of shit for united any more. I honestly think he wanted a red and the 3 match ban that comes with it. Why? No idea.
