Unfortunately I think what he's saying is inevitable. Sky are going to try to cut the cost of their Premiership deal at the next round of negotiations because of the EU rights problem, and some of the big teams will see direct overseas deals as a way to claw that back; plus in an inceasingly IPTV world, they'll see direct PPV or subs off their own sites as a the ultimate endgame (MUTV is called that for a reason).

Is it good for the Prem in the long run? Certainly not, but that's the problem with shareholders and owners.

I don't think sky will. The league have already hinted they will sell the EU rights as one big package, and sky will probably get it.

Chance for sky to increase their market.

Outside of europe though, I could see it happening.
