Well I dont think there be another game like that this season between the so called top sides. If Arsene needed any hints he needs to buy players then that is the biggest hint he will ever get.
Arsene getting absolutely slagged for his tactics from someone as pro-arsenal as you could get.

Credit to some the arsenal players, and the arsenal fans for applauding each other at the end. Even when slaugthered the fans still tried to keep spirits up.

Merson letting rip on Wenger there and its justified.

totally agree with that. There just seemed to be a lack of tactical awareness in that match. Yes they missing players but you got to make tactics to get best out the players.

Wonder how many more matches before arsenal finish with 11 men on the pitch

He's an idiot, Arsenal needed a couple of quality players this window, so far all they've done is sell Fabregas, Nasri, Denilson, Clichy, Bendtner and Vela and replaced them with Gervinho :p

Not so sure about that, could just be economic realities. They're heavily in debt and banks everywhere are looking to reduce the size of loan facilities and overdrafts. Wouldn't be surprised if the money from player sales has gone straight into the bank to reduce liabilities. Throw in the fact that many fees for player sales are paid on the drip they might not be all that better off cashwise at this point.

There are only a few teams in the Premier League that can cope with the current financial crisis. Man United are the biggest earners in the league, Man City and Chelsea have hugely wealthy owners. Everyone else has to cut their cloth accordingly.

News came through this evening that Villa are selling yet another player this evening with Makoun off to Greece. So since last season we've released: Friedel, Reo-Coker and Carew (plus some youngsters) and sold Ashley Young, Luke Young, Downing and Makoun. Only incomings being Given and N'Zogbia. Our owner might be a "billionaire" but most of his wealth is in terms of loan notes in a credit card company. Very little cash wealth and so we have to sell, sell, sell.

Shit season ahead with only very few teams having any prospects of winning anything in all honesty.

Arsenal are owned by 2 billionaires, sold 75m worth of players and were reporting a budget of 35m at the start of the window, Wenger has always said the money is there if he wanted it.

Arsenal have over £80m cash (both Cesc and Nasri were reportedly sold for upfront cash payments) so there is no excuse. The only reason we don't have new players is 1 Wenger down not want to admit some of this players are good enough. 2 Wenger does not want to be bent over and to spend more than he thinks a player is worth. But tough shit he needs to act.

Arsenal are owned by 2 billionaires,

And? Our billionaire owner is strapped for cash. Assets is one thing, cash is another. Also some owners are in the game to make money - not pay out. Might be they've looked at the competition and decided that Arsenal can probably still finish fourth even without major investment this year.

I certainly think our owner has looked at things and decided spending big to get a spot in the Europa league isn't worth it, he'd rather finish midtable and make some money in the process.

Chelski and City fans forget they won the billionaire lottery not every owner is okay with throwing money away.

This is hilarious! Mad Arsenal fans on their way home! "Didn't know if anyone noticed, but Anderson was pulling faces at our keeper at all the freekicks!" Ahahaha! Worst excuse ever!

BBC iPlayer - Listen Live - BBC Radio 5 live

edit. news on now tho..

I am not saying that made a difference but I am sure a guy got a slagging from the FA for putting the keeper off a cuple of years ago?

Throwing money away???

They have massive gaping holes in the squad, they just sold most of their decent players. He needs to spend the money he made from those sales sharpish and not on young hopefuls... chuck a couple more injuries into the squad between now and the next window and they are proper fucked.

Calm down. I mean just because our owner is a billionaire it does not me we can spend £100m on players every summer nor afford to lose £100m a year on the wage bill. That is throwing money away.

But i have said before we have £80m and near enough £200k a week to get rid of at the moment.
